Default help rear high level spoiler

hi there, could anyone tell me if there is a difference in the high level spoilers from an early classic (94/95 i think) to one that would be on a 98 classic. i purchased the above mentioned spoiler, spent a stupid amount having it tidied and sprayed to find at great horror that it doesn't seem to fit.there is a gap under the bit that sits on the boot lid and i'm sure there wasn't on the car i took it off as there was double sided sticky tape on it. am i really stupid and angry or can it still be fitted.any help would be greatly appreciated, cheers tony?

Firstly, the 98 cars had a flat tea tray type spoiler.

Now, your new spoiler: is it an original, or a copy?
If it's a copy, what's it made from? Any idea who made it? If it's a real one, or PU, it can be bolted flat. If it's f/glass, it'll probably crack

Some of them do need to be bolted down in the centre, since they are banana shaped along there. Others, like the one I HAD, (before I sourced a real one), are a good fit.
