Default melted splitter????

have an ht autos p1 splitter fitted on my car, it's painted plastic; and seems to have warped/melted due to heat, i'm guessing it's my manifold (gruppe-s tubular).

it hasn't lost it's complete shape just the bottom edge looks a bit droopy!?!?

anyone else suffered similar??

Yeah mines gone a little bit out of shape at the bottom i have standard headers so I don't think that's the problem.
To be honest I don't think that there that great quality regardless what a lot of people say on here, good price tho.

it's annoying, paid for a splitter and had it painted, now the paint has come of and it doesn't look the part any more

now need another one and have to paint that

goes to show that there is a price to be paid for quality......................

I know they say that the hp spliter can be painted but they do seem VERY flexible
On the plus side at least they can take a knock on kerbs and stuff with out splitting or cracking.
The wife drives mine a lot so a carbon one would be out of the question im pretty sure it would only last a week or two

had a grp splitter on the prefacelift bumper and it took the slightest of knocks to split it, not again!!

i know what you're saying about the carbon one though, if i did it i would have to add a carbon lip too

decisions................

Default melting splitter

a carbon splitter, which is fibre reinforced plastic ,would have the same effect as regards damage as grp , glass reinforced plastic, but you pay a lot more for the privilege

Default melted splitter

also an abs plastic splitter is injected moulded thin plastic that melts with any heat and very easily warps

Are you thinking of using the body shop to paint it? If so I would think twice about it, I think there a bit to flexible for a good lasting finish but that's just my thoughts
