Default Evolution of a bugeye

Didn't think this was a big enough project for the projects section but thought I'd document the styling changes to my Bug.
Currently the changes are a set of chavtastic rear lights, JDM replica grille and Subaru style front lip (both painted in a poorly matched paint). Forgot to add De-badged rear end and JDM HID headlights!

The before photos:

After the addition of the fog covers and carbon side markers/B pillar trim:

First photos of the latest bits!!

Not got the rear spoiler (scoobyworld STI 8), skirts (orcari) or rear lights as yet but they should arrive this week so here's some sneaky pics of the bits so far. All these bits are genuine Subaru/Prodrive - the rest are replica parts.

Scoop was from JapanParts item number 009-478-003 cost about £80 + P&P which is less than breakers want although if you can get it in your colour it'll be cheaper 2nd hand. You'll need the undertray as well though if you plan to fit the intercooler.

That front grill was off a S202, only model in that colour. Smart!

Here's my front end, only finished a few weeks ago.

At first I thought it was a blob-eye grille,

Psigeek,

Both the old one on the car and the new one on the floor are genuine Subaru parts, the new one came from Bell and Colvill in Leatherhead (they do mail order on their website), the one on the car was an eBay purchase (mines actually a replica).

Question

Got my Samco hoses so I can fit the intercooler now, anybody know where I can get some good hose clamps from? Also had to send the rear lights back as I received clear lens lights not the red/clear as ordered

Nice little thread this. Some nice changes being made matey.

I too have the same grille that has come off the S201. Best grille for the bugeye.

Cheers for the comments guys, quick but boring update, my new Kenwood dnx5220 HU is fitted and looks the business with great Nav/speed camera alerts, the STI rear spoiler has arrived and now my confidence in self fitting has evaporated!

Oh and some tosser keyed the back of my car so I need the boot and rear bumper resprayed as well!

So does anybody have any tips/pointers for fitting a Scoobyworld rear sti spoiler to a new age?

I'm tempted to get another spoiler, been wingless for a couple of years now, getting common lol

STi one or another Cusco Carbon one hmm

Yeah used the self adhesive washers on every hole - I still fancy the Spec D low rear spoiler, maybe next time!

Just need to get a bigger drill to drill out the inner skin so I can fit two of the bolts, and get some small spade terminals so I can hook up the rear brake light.

There is a much easier way of getting the holes in line ...

only took me 15 minutes

put the new spoiler in the original hole and push down on the spoiler and there you have it centrepunched holes ready for drilling..

got to admit its the best replacement you can do to a wrx.

Mine had threaded holes not bolts on the base so I couldn't do it that way.
