Question Side skirts painting cost

Hi Folks,

Just wondering how much it would cost me to have my wrx side skirts painted in line with the car colour.

I have been wanting to do it for ages and eventually made it priority!

Any ideas roughly how much it would cost.

Does anybody on here do it..I can send them to get done?

Re-painting a set of skirts that are already painted, is easier/cheaper than painting a non-painted set..

Thats prep and paint though, as said before thats more involved/costly.

Mine were off a black STI so they were already painted.

When I got mine done it was suggested that I may as well get the front spolier done as well (it has a few chips) - total bill was £180 but just skirts would have been £100.

Depends how good a job you want mate , you can get someone to paint them cheaply but chances are you'll get a cheap job . We always remove the skirts and paint the whole skirt , even where it's under the car . If they're not painted already they'll need plastic primering and you'll have to decide if you want the texture showing through your paint . If you don't and want a smooth finish they'll need 2k priming and flatting before painting to colour . I'd advise to remove the rubber seal and refit it after painting ( ie not colour code that, it always comes off after a while) . Sounds like a very simple job but as you see it depends on what quality you want . We paint side skirts for our trade sales customers for around £100 but i would never do it to a Subaru .
You get what you pay for !

That doesn't even cover materials costs...

£200 seems the right kinda price TBH to remove/prep and paint a set of skirts and have a decent job done...

just buy a pair of sti skirts then you could paint these yourself with a can then swap over when they are done. I was lucky and bought a set of WR Blue sti skirts and just swapped them over, but you are not going to get them in your colour

I got mine done about a year and a half ago, where black from the factory and where given 5 layers of undercoat to get a smooth gloss finish then 2 coats of gloss with a laquer finish. Thay have stood up well to stone chips and cost me £180.
