Default alloy refurb

i have done a DIY refurb on my alloys.
i've top coated them gold, do i need to key this surface with fine grade wet and dry before i apply the laquer? or do i just spray it on top of the top coat? i've read the tin and it gives no indication on the next stage. i'm baffled i don't want to ruin all the work i've done too.

Just put your clear coat straight on. Be a good idea to warm the area with a hairdryer or heat gun first in the current weather though

What he said. Never any need to scotch base before clear coating.
