Question Preferred Spoilers on classics?

I'm hopefully soon to be buying a mid level spoiler off a 97 Type R, to replace my original low level spoiler on my white MY95 UK.

Just wondering? Whats the general preference on what spoilers look best on classics?

cheers brent

A lot people tend to put the STI5 or the even larger STI6 on. I've got the STI4 (mid-level) on mine and I'm keeping it.

STI6 for me although I do prefer the 5 to be honest. If price was no option and I wasnt such a tight git id have gone for the Prodrive Version.

Prodrive high level one with break light.....as fitted to the RB5 and some later classics - might be the factory PPP ones.

cheers for the quick responses.

I do like the high level ones, but the only worry i got is the car is still a work in progress, so its still completely standard at the moment.

I've changed the interior to the STi Type RA interior, bought some splash guards and a scoobysport backbox, but thats it so far.

I've still not changed the indicators to clear yet, nor sprayed the side skirts or splash guards or rear spats or door handles or wing mirrors + the standard grey front grill is still on there.

So although dont get me wrong i really like the larger spoilers, i dont want it to look a bit over the top before i've tarted up the rest?

My personal preference is this....

Having an STI spoiler when you don't have the rest of the kit to match it just looks pants

Ali-B, my point exactly, i think i can get away with the mid level, until i do the other mods. like firstly getting everything colour coded, then indicators, then WRC style front grill, then some kinda splitter of some kind.

Alcazar what splitter + front end mods you got? (if you dont mind me asking)

I had my Sti6 spoiler on the bedroom floor for months as I knew it would look crap putting it on before bigger wheels, colour coding and splitter. Well worth the wait

It's gotta be the Prodrive WR - it's the DB's.

Note for Anyone looking for a cheap STI 5 / 6 on eBay - I was sent an email from ebay who warned me about someone who's now been banned for attempting to sell non-existant spoilers. There's plenty available on ebay so if you plan on getting one from there - make sure the seller has a lot of positive feedback.

Mine has STI6 spoiler from GradeA Subaru, front splitter from MRO styling, and WRX '04 wheels, the wheels have been swopped sinced the photo to graphite ones.

I can see where you are coming from about not wanting a big spoiler without the rest of the kit. Trouble is, if you buy a smaller one, then tart it up further, won't you want the tarty one then? And that's going to end up costing you twice.

I defo prefer the STI 5 spolier to most of the others...

Although there are a few 'Rare' spoliers knocking about that i do like, i think fatman scoob or someone has one, and it looks the nuts...

Taffyb:

If your looking for a Mid level (STI 4) spolier i have one going spare in my garage that i took off my WRX, you can have it for a good price if you like...it's sprayed in 952 Black Mica at the mo...???

Forgot to say, i have a JUN splitter with an STI 5 Spoiler, although there are so many optiones for front splitters...

How much does the Prodrive spoiler cost and where from? Is there anyone produces a replica version?

I remember a group buy on replicas a while back but it never took off!

Would anyone be interested in a spoiler group buy if one could be arranged?

Cant say i'd have enough to stretch to one of those bad boys, but how much they go for roughly?

+ good idea though.

Do they ever do group buy's of different stuff from one company for discount or does it have to be one product?

Original Prodrive (WR Sport) spoiler is £500+VAT+Painting+fitting from a Dealer.

The replicas (with Prodrive logo) aren't being made anymore for obvious reasons. There maybe some new replicas around without the logo.

2nd-hand they'll fetched up to £350.

Heres the post on group buy, as you can see it broke down at the end.

Think this is the WRC replica spoiler. Front end, RB5 style grill and Sti6 splitter. My personal favourite obviously!

Steve, where did you get the mesh grille that's on your car?
Thanks
