Question Which silicon sealer

I am trying to find the correct type silicon/adhesive type sealer to put back the black alluminium strip that goes between the top front windscreen & the roof skin.
I have tried various types of silicon sealers but non of them have had a strong adhesive, everytime I locate the strip to the screen/roof with the silicon & hold it down with some pressure & strong tape, leave it for 12/24 hours. When I get back to it the strip has not bonded correctly & there is always a gap were the strip has flex back.
My local diy suggested to use a two pack type mix paste/adhesive but to be honest that seems to strong & will form rock hard, if ever I need to replace the front screen I dont want to have to chisel it out.
Some one must know of the correct or factory based type sealer, whats its called & where from please, any suggestions?

Sikaflex or tiger seal - basically a thick black bond that dries like rubber (use it for sticking body kits on and holding cars together in body shops) should be able to get them from a motor factors, think no more nails is similar. Would it not be cheaper and easier to go to an auto glass place and get them to use the proper stuff?

Thanks Ayde
Never thought about auto glass, Hopefully they will sell me a tube of it as I need to bond some other bits as well.

Look in YP for automotive paint suppliers/bodyshop suppliers etc.

The stuff you want is called Cicaflex, or Puriflex, and comes in different colours.
