a lorry drove over a crate, which flipped it up and cracked my scoob

a few scratches here and there which have buffed out, but the drivers wing mirror is cracked, glass is fine, still folds in and out via the switch,but the outer case is broken

is it possible to buy a uk wing mirror and transfer the electric gubbins over?

revolution are selling mirror covers because aperntly the early uk cars didnt come with painted mirrors or sumthing

these are £50, would the electric gubbins suit these?
they just look like the full outer mirror plastic to me?

 

BTTT after 3 months because i have repaired the mirror houseing and now need to find sum glass for it

 

I bought a mirror for my MY97WRX from my local parts supplier Camberly Auto Factors, cost abot £7 if I remember correctly.

how do you mean change the glass?
the replacement glass simply sticks over the cracked glass "hideing" it


or you can be a bit more cocky and remove all the cracked glass, and then stick the new replacement lens over the plastic parts.

 

I tried the boiling water trick, which worked on one mirror but the other busted
