Question Questions re Sti8 Spoiler

Hi

Just had my Sti8 spoiler fitted and wondered:

Should there be a hole on the underside of the top blade covered by a circular plastic cover - looks a bit like a sticking plaster. This sort of spoils the finish!

Where does the torsion bar go? I was expecting to see it on the inside of the boot lid

I would assume it it something to do with the lifting mechanism because of the difference in weight between the spoilers (though that is just a guess).

Did you have it done at a main dealer? How much was the total cost?

Had a good look in boot - nothing looks different

Part of deal when buying the car so can't really say - less than £900 tho'

Anybody know about the hole in the middle ???

The torsion bar should be strong enough that when you unlock the boot the lid will spring up slightly. With the standard torsion bar you have to lift the boot up all the way from the bottom.

Re the stickers yes mine also has them.

Mine has the sticker underneath the top part of the spoiler too.
As for the torsion bar, it is located underneath the rear shelf and provides enough spring to release the boot due to the extra weight. Is black in colour and approx 5mm in diameter.
