Hi all,

Some 'white van man' ambushed me last night and totalled the back of my Scoob whilst I was stationary at traffic lights. Feeling a bit achy today but walked away ok.

The scoob however is looking quite sorry for itself this morning and urgently needs (amongst other things) a new rear bumper.

Does anyone know if this is the same as a U.K bumper (say a P1?)or where I can get one from (2nd hand is fine)? I'd like to keep the 'import' square rear plate if poss as well.

Thanks in advance.

They're the same indeed.
Could try Grade A Subaru for a second hand one. Not sure on the contact details though but im sure a search would find them.

I would be careful. Did your bumper have the black moulded mud flap type thingies because if it did like my old STI4 did then there may be extra holes or brackets to attach it to.

I bought a front wing from someone off here who swore it was identical to the UK car but it wasn't

I would imagine that would be the only difference though.

Thanks chaps - advice was appreciated (Grade A have one in stock).

Having spoken with about half a dozen suppliers it's about 50/50 as to whether the part is indeed the same. I'm guessing that RichB's comment about the black things that sit underneath may be the difference (if any).

Good news is that the insurance company have authorised me to choose a bodyshop of my choice so any advice in the S.E is more than welcome. I'm also toying with the idea of making the most of a bad thing and fitting the MRO bodykit at the same time (failing the unavailability of Veilside front ends in the U.K) but again they state the rear bumper they sell only fits a 4 door (Type R is 2). Hmmm, I'll get to the bottom of this soon!

Cheers again.
