Megabusa....STi mudflaps
has anyone placed an order for STi mudlfaps for the STi8 with Megabusa or better still actually fitted them onto the car? I'm ready to order but want the low-down. otherwise I will have to spend some mega bucks on ones from the dealers...
would appreciate any info as I'm ready to order now!
sorry not to read the related thread but there are a lot of posts there and I want to get to the point.
cheers,

I ordered a set last year from him for my STI7, now fitted to my STI8. They fit as per Subaru ones, but you would be saving yourself a lot of money. They are easy to fit, only awkward moment is the drilling in the front for the brackets, but that's no major hassle. Rears can be fitted with the wheels still on the car.

thanks for that positive information chris, it sounds most encouraging. so you have no bits left over that required trimming so that it fitted the STi8 then? and did your mudflaps come with the steel brackets?
scoobyexhausts, do you happen to have the web site for Scoobyworld by any chance?

Megabusa's flaps (excuse the expression) fitted perfectly, they are exactly the same for STI7 & 8.
You do have two height settings as well(as per Subaru). I set mine to the high setting which I think is more than adequate, the front are low enough that way. Set to the lower setting you probably would see them rubbing along the ground under cornering.
I am concerned that the high setting will still touch the ground when the car is fitted with the lowering springs (not done myself yet).
The only concern I have with the Blue flaps, is that of them discolouring, I've seen a couple that have gone green. I don't know however if the original Subaru ones would do the same. Mine are over a year old and no major colour change, though the rears are showing slight signs.

I have the Subaru STi in blue flaps for my STi8. I cannot upload the piccies but e-mail me and I will send them. I think they are the dogs b******* and believe that other cheaper materials will fade in sun light.
Its not actually the cheaper flaps which fade, it can happen to any polyurethane which is probably the most expensive mudflap material and the material I use. You can also buy very cheap PVC which probably won't fade, but they'll probably fall off with time.
