As the title on an 1997 STI TYPE R with electric and retractable mirrors? They need to be removed to paint them. Not the traingular part but just the mirror itself.

Is there anyway to just remove the mirror instead of the traingle. Underneath there are 3 holes which look like they may attach with screws?

I doubt if you will find a screwdriver to fit the gap underneath, the screws are at an angle and you can't get a screwdriver short enough.

I have a type-r and I had to take off the door card, pop off the triangular shaped plastic cover, remove the three screws that hold the unit onto the door and take the whole thing off to get access to the three screws underneath the mirror. Having said this, it isn't a big job.
