Has anyone any help to offer re fitting mesh fog lamp covers to an MY02 WRX? (Fitting instructions not in the box!).

Do the lamps themselves need to come out first? The brackets supplied need to attach to somewhere beside/behind the lamps ??

Tips/instructions gratefully received to avoid a lengthy trip to a helpful dealer.

Hi,

I have the STI ones this is how mine went on.

The black metal bracket fits onto one of the 4 screws that hold the original light in using the original screw, non threaded end next to the light. I think the screw to remove is the bottom outside one. This will only go on in one orientation due to it's shape.

The cover then slots into 2 holes at the top of the recess the light is in then the supplied screw (silver) then goes through the mesh cover hole into the threaded bit of the black bracket.

Repeat for the other side.

Hope this helps, apologies for the crap english and possible poor explaination but it only took me 2 minutes and I didn't really think about it (no dig intended). It was also quite a while ago.

Let me know if I can help further I can look at the car tomorrow when I finish work (on nights now)

Kev

Cheers Kev. I'll let you know how I get on. Spot on idea of yours to remove one of the lamp screws. I've got great hopes for tomorrow now..... I'll set myself a time limit of 10 minutes!!

Well Kev, it's not been good.

Your instructions were terrific. The removal of one of the scews was straight forward and on the assumption that 'L' means left as you look at the car, the bracket was affixed to the car.

The bolts supplied by Scoobyparts are so small that they have little chance of applying themselves to the hole into which they are destined.

A 38 miles round trip in search of longer bolts has had little success.

The other screw on the right hand lamp does not want to budge and I've given in for today.

Disappointed that Scoobyparts, whilst delivering quickly, failed to provide some basic guidance with the gear and decent bolts, but appreciate your help mate. At least, if I can find longer bolts and get this screw out, we might be there.

Talking

They are both on - hooray!! WD40 and a neighbours tool box.

They look good but cannot believe how long it's taken.

Painted the bolt heads which make them look much better. Just need to find a final pair of bolts that are about a centimetre longer than those supplied.

Thanks again Kev.
