Group buys are of course great and allowed, but we cannot allow the party that's offering product to the group buy to initiate it. That could be construed as an advert for the company, and because the moderation team have been accused of hypocracy and double standards, we've got to try to apply the rules fairly and consistenty.

I know it's just a question of semantics, but it is important that we are absolutely consistent in our message of "no commercial posts".

Incidentally, there will be a new group buy feature being put into Scoobyshop just as soon as the development team gets the appropriate resources available! We do know that there's a less than ideal approach at the moment, and steps are being taken to rectify this.
