Hi.
Ive been secretly working away on a carbon bonnet for my car, after a few faliures, ive think I have got it right! Its hand laid carbon with a fibreglass frame. There is a seam right the way down the centre of the bonnet as I could not find a supplier of carbon cloth any wider than 1 metre (can anyone help me there?)
I only have a mould for the early impreza at the moment (93-96). Hopefuly it will be in production very soon.
Cheers, Rob.

Nice one mate - I only live down the road from you in Knutsford, I'll have to keep an eye out for you.
P.S Either your smoking a large Cuban cigar in that last picture, or you appear to be suffering from a slightly smoky engine ... ?

No worries, mine's a plain STI 1 Wagon, silver. Been lusting after your latest front bumper for awhile now, although I may speak to you about a custom bumper design I've got in my head.
I contact some of my trade suppliers, I know a couple of companies that might be able to sort out a better source of c/f for you. Anything specific I should know about the material before asking ?

Will you be doing a bonnet for 97-00 cars? Looks great as usual Rob. What sort of £ are these things going to come out at?
Steve
Edited to add, if you need a model for a 97 car I'd be willing to volunteer.

LOL @ Rice Rocket! I think you need some help boy!
I do have plans to make moulds for all models so you can expect to see them in a couple of months.
Price wise, you will be looking at about £450.00, that includes the finishing and laquering.
Paul,(or anyone else who can help) the carbon I am looking for is Plain Weave, 200g/M.sq.
Jon, thanks mate I will probably have one available by mid january, as Im having a nice break at the moment! Also, I want to run my car for a few more weeks with it on just to be sure there are no heat problems. All looks good at the moment though.
Unfortunatley I wont be making a carbon scoop, its too complex a shape, very difficult to mould in carbon.
Merry christmas to you all, Rob.

FYI,
www.kastleskorner.com in the USA offers CF scoops that are about 3/4" taller than the regular scoops. He also offer fiberglass versions that are cheaper. You may also want to take a look at LNR in the US, also.

You can't really compare American prices to us in the UK, a place where petrol costs the same per gallon as it would per litre for you guys. Trying to get the bonnet here from the states would make mr taxman lick his lips and laugh all day long to the bank..

Hi,
Im just going to see how this one sells for the moment to see if its worth making up a mould for the newer shapes. Keep an eye on the www.mroscoobystyling.com website for future info, I will probably post it on here too.
Cheers, Rob.
