When at the SIDC meet at donnington the other month, i saw an STI version 7 that had had a driving light conversion but had placed back over the light a mesh cover with the STI logo sprayed onto it. This looked cool as. Does anybody know if you can get them to do the same conversion to my STI 5? easy to do the lights but the Grill is the had bit. Any thoughts?

mikey,

sorry this is so late. don't know of anywhere that does these style covers for classic scoobs. i plan to use clear fog covers from main dealer with STi logo stuck from the inside facing out and smoke/tint the covers giving the same dark effect with white STi logos, but not imparing the lights.

Hope this helps.

Kev

themaverick,

sorry, but i haven't done mine yet so have no pics. imagine the 22B fog covers with the STi logo on them. i believe Subaru dealers stock clear plastic foglight protectors. as with rear lights these can be smoked to give a dark appearance.

now, i have been advised that the STi logos can be placed inside the covers facing outwards a'la 22B. if you smoke/tint the covers from the inside (i.e. from behind the STi sticker) the effect you get is of a dark cover like fundimental has posted but with STi logos in white. if i can find an earlier post with a similar example of painted clear covers, i will add the pic in below.

Kev

As promised, but imagine smoke tinted covers instead of painted ones.

Thanks for the Photo. The piccy of the car doesnt realy do it i'm afraid. I have a version 5 which has the complete cover, so the ones pictured may look a bit funy. The mesh ones above are the right sort of thing, but they are only available for bug eyed scoobs.. Unless you know differently??

afraid not. your covers are better than the option above - but i have an ealry WRX, so your style wouldn't fit my car. perhaps if enough people want them, the same manufacturer of the bug-eye ones may take note. try Paul at TSL, he may have enough clout to get these made. or you could approach a local plastics manufacturer and see how much you could get them made for??? there is a business oppo for you there
