The way we did it was to cut a square of the rough size of the gap, measured from the outside and then just keep snipping bits off till it fitted. We then offered it up the black grill thing and then used cable ties to attach it to the car.

Steve

Edited to add, once it fitted we then cut a rough shape round the number plate brackets and folded them down. Once we were happy it fitted, then cut the flaps off.

Question

Hi Guys

Has anyone fitted mesh to the front of their classic Scoob ?

If so whats involved ?
Hows it done ?
How much cutting etc involved ?
Is it difficult ?
Should I chicken out and buy one or get someone else to do it 4 me

Anyone have any instructions or a link to a web page with loads of step by step pics

Cheers

Neal

Cool

Did my own MY'98 with a piece of black diamond mesh from a local dealer (£11). Cut it to shape in 2 pieces to preserve the Scooby stars (now pink, did that myself too ), trial and error, cut little bits off at a time until it fits. Fixed it with very small thin zip ties, original grille underneath is invisible.
Also done lower panel as I have a chin spoiler with the number plate on it. I've sprayed the Scooby stars onto it through a home made mask in white.
Total outlay was £12, and about an hour's work. Give it a go.
Should have said: when you do it, be VERY careful to get the grille the right way up. One way it looks pants, and DON'T do the two bits for the top the opposite way round!!!

NaughtybutNice,
Very old picture so i have got crystal front indicators (plus gren sides too) from JW Racing. Also have a new front spoiler fitted. Almost did it myself. Got some mesh from my Dad's factory and between the two of us and a pair of tine snips we sorted it in about 45 mins. Looks fantastic IMHO.
