Question

Hi there
Been looking at a my00 W reg UK Impreza Turbo today. All looked well, low miles, DBM (best colour IMHO) not a bad price. Only trouble is, it had an old small spoiler on the back (circa94-98) I was wondering if anyone could tell me if this spoiler should be on this car, I thought that T reg cars and later had the medium sized spoiler. Any help would be gratefully received.
Cheers Turkish1

Standard fit spoiler on the MY99 and MY00 was the STi style Mid level as seen below:-

the t plates all had high level spoilers,(t is a 99) dealers have been known to swap for lower spoilers if they have the same colour car in stock,if the new buyer wanted something a little less noticable(have seen an sti7 with a smaller wrx spoiler)

You don't say whether the car you looked at was a uk car or not, if it iss't, it' might be a WRX, some of these seem to have had a low spoiler as standard, not the slightly raised one.

I know someone who has had an MY00 since new. He was offered either the low-level or mid-level spoiler as an option when he bought it. So it could have either really.
Whatever it has, take it off and put an STI5 spoiler on instead.

Yup the spoiler that is fitted to the MY99/00 is the old STi4 one (they must have had surplus stock left or something )
