Default Best way to remove stickers/decals

As the title says, what's the best way to remove stickers/decals from your car. I've got loads of them on both the windows and bodywork.

Taking the stickers off using fingernails is all well and good but it's not only time consuming but I'll be left with all the glue from them.

Also, anything that requires a plug socket to use (heat guns maybe?) is out of the question as I don't have access to one where my car stays.

dribble very hot water over them from a kettle, be careful on the glass though, then buy wurth glue remover for any glue left behind, then a good cut and polish on the paint work - can be hard work, the sticker's get brittle the hot water softens them
