Default The Summer Cricket Thread 2013

A big summer of Cricket boiling up this summer.

ENG already through to the ICC Semi's + the Ashes to come in under a month

Jimmy is on top of his game hopefully it will be his summer with the Aussies still in a mess.

And just for "7" any comment on Essex being all out for 20 (yes twenty) in their 2nd inns against Lancs ??

A great start against the Saffers, but I do wonder why Trott is still in the OD team, too slow...

Shame about the result yesterday but to be fair it was an exciting game. 6 needed off the last ball

Whoever thought that putting Bell into a 50 over game (20/20 in the end) needs shooting

And the good news for the day is that the Australia "team" are collapsing before the Test has even started. Coach sacked today

Very disappointing throwing it away like that.

You cant change your tem selection once the toss has been made, they tossed in the morning wehen they thought it would be 50 overs, I'm sure both teams would have made changes to their sides had they known it was going to be 20/20.

Blame the ICC for having no reserve day for one of their premier tournaments, I know it's a busy time of the year Cricket wise but not acceptable imo.

Looking forward to tomorrow, no weather issues to worry about. Surely win the toss and bat first in these conditions and get 600 on the board

The Rugby boys managed it, now lets hope Captain Cook can do the same.

Been looking forward to this so much. We're bound to make it difficult for ourselves at times but you won't get decent odds for England winning the Series.

I said Siddle was one to watch and really wish i'd been wrong. 5-50 so far on that pitch is stupid batting by England.

14 wickets on the opening day, incredible. 1st session tomorrow could be the most important of the game. Hope plenty of cloud cover to get that ball swinging again and a couple of early wickets.

What a great morning session I was getting frustrated with the 1st half hour as there was no pressure being applied and then it all changed with one delivery.

or look at it this way, the weather has changed and Agar is just showing how easy it is going to be for our batsmen (apart from Bell, obviously) to get stuck in and open a lead. I predict a double hundred from Cook.

11-2 hahahaha how crap are they. This could turn out to be a very embarrassing defeat.

Great text from my best mate in Aus this afternoon.

"Joe Root bats well for a 14 year old lesbian!"

How good has today been? A few umpire decisions go our way and Broad is doing really well. The ups and downs of Test cricket really get your heart going

Another reason, if needed, proving that the test format is different grade

Also worth noting Punter carrying his bat for 169 yesterday in his last 1st class innings.

After a night to consider...... Starting to agree that Broad should have walked. The fact that Pieterson is jumping to his defence speaks volumes really.

We DID have an atrocious umpiring decision earlier with Trott's dismissal so it evens out but the spirit is just as important as the laws of the game. Lets not slip down the path of lawlessness
