If it's the overhead kick then fairplay, awesome goal! Beckham from halfway line was good too.

Shinned it, you ****

For me the best thing about it was the body adjustment just to be able to strike it, read the ball perfectly . A worthy winner

I'd take these 2 as well to make my top three

Matt Le Tiss against Newcastle where the ball was behind him and he flicks it over his head with his heel whilst running before taking on another 2 players and slotting it home. 2nd goal in this clip
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EtJeN...eature=related

Bergkamps third in his hatrick against Leicester

I would rate Paolo di Canio's goal against Wimbeldon better than Rooneys TBH.

It was a thing of beauty, all the better as it was completed by a maverick.

Surely this argument can go on forever, the best goal ever is purely subjective, surely?

Le tissier was awesome. If he'd of wore a manure or scouse shirt he would of been this countrys king!

Yep.

-Rooney may have shinned it , but he attempted it , and succeced.
-With the Van Persie volley , technically brilliant , very hard to excicute.
-Crouch definatly intended his , but he still looked like a giraffe trying to get shi7 off its hoof

Many goals have more to do with the impact on the situation too. Very hard to decide IMO

To some extent I agree, his loyalty held him back but he should be applauded for it.

This goal was never going to win in a million years, and rightly so too

if it was voted for by the clubs then the outcome would have been different. The fan base of man u has won it for him. The le tiss goals were both better than rooneys, proper skill that you hardly see. There are overhead kicks every season, but goals like le tiss come round very rarely

Lmao @ shinned it. I am struggling to work out if your taking the **** or not.

But either way yes better goals and hard to argue with Le Tiss. Although how about Tony Yeboah - goals 4 & 5 in this compilation:

Great technique to hit a ball dropping from such a height, but we are talking about the Ginger Magician after all

Le Tissier was an incredible player. Considering how slow he was he didn't half score some great goals.

How about Shearer in the Villa game 2003 iirc

And I think this one might also be a contender
