Should it go ahead? What do you reckon?

Looks like F1's really in a knot over this. The teams don't want it but only a few days ago ol' Bernie said it was going ahead.

I don't think it should go ahead.

However, if this is cancelled on human rights grounds, it's then a bit hypocritical running the Chinese race.

I don't think it should go ahead. All this hassle just isn't needed. The F1 could go somewhere where it's more welcome.

The FIA are so out of touch it is unreal.
Weren't 40 odd police officers out there arrested and put on trial for supporting the rebels?

Taking the GP to Bahrian is a denial of everything that's happening there. Ultimately this decision has come down to money, Ferrari alone are set to lose £18million if the race doesn't go ahead

Shouldn't go ahead. Only on the calandar because Bernie is as bent as you can get and he's being paid off for it. Poison dwarf that he is.

Well Bernie and co got a Government tour to 'prove' everything was ok. You can imagine how fair that was!

Bernie flys everywhere in a private jet, brown-nosed wherever he goes, probably doesn't even have to wipe his own bum. In touch he is not!

More to do with the reputation of F1 I believe.
The move to re-instate the race has been internationally slated and rightly so.
Bernie doesn't often lose, but when he does, he is very quick to admit it.

Shouldn't this stay in NSR - it is a political issue?

Now the thread dies in the sport forum.

Not only has it been moved unnecessarily (as above, it is a political issue), it has been moved to the wrong bloody section!
Mods, please move back to NSR.

On another note, I think this piece by the editor of Pitpass somes the situation up nicely.

I would have thought it belongs in Motorsport at least.

They have now said it won't happen. I don't know what the situation is like out there now. Always seemed very peaceable and friendly when we used to stage through there on the way to Singapore or Hong Kong.

There would of course be a lot of money to be made on both sides of the coin.

No it shouldn't go ahead for very obvious reasons.

Yet again a Motorsport thread ends up in Sport, Have any of the mods noticed there is a Motorsport section ? why not amalgamate the lot including the rally section into Sport, then you can be as lazy as you like.
