Pires back in the Premiership
At 37 though surely he's not going to last long at the top level. Will he even get a game at Villa? Not quite sure why they've signed him to be honest? Just to have another experienced head in the squad to assist the younger players?
I'd love to see him playing well as he was one of my favourite players when at Arsenal but I think those days are long gone.

I thought the reason that he left arsenal was because he wanted to play at a slower pace? premiership will be to hard to get back into surely? too old and too slow but once a very good player. good luck to him

Might be a good move for them.
Sunderland have had a couple of older players who have done a good job for us towards the end of their careers.
Dwight Yorke played a massive role on & off the pitch, he didn't always play but he was a big influence in the dressing room. I give him allot of credit for us being promoted back into the premier league and surviving out first season. He also came on for the last 20 mins or so of games and helped us get a few last minute goals.
At the moment we have Bolo Zenden playing for us. Our squad is one of, if not the youngest squad in the league, Bolo has pretty much won everything these is to win and has masses of experience he can pass onto the younger players.
He played a full 90 minutes against Chelsea on Sunday and did quite well.
Hard to believe hes nearly 35, scored a crack against spurs aswell.

I'll admit now Sunderland are the up and coming team currently. They have caused trouble for all the 'big' teams this season and the way they played against Chelsea was simply fantastic, one of the best games i've seen in ages. The proof will be if they can keep up that sort of form.
