Don't worry! He'll be back as the Messiah with King Kevin in tow!
RIP Sir Bobby: if only Peter Shilton had managed to get his ageing paws to a couple of those well-placed West German penalties! Oh and you'd made Waddle and Pearce practice taking them!

Came across as a really nice man. Sorry he had so much grief with the cancer over the last few years but have some good memories of him down the years
I'll raise a glass of newcy brown at lunchtime to him

Very sad news,
I had a lot of time for Bobby, no amateur dramatics with him, only saw him on the net a few days back for the Eng vs Ger match at nufc, he looked really frail, I was quite shocked how quickly he'd gone down hill, he was probably ready to go and what better way than having a game in his honour at St James' park, he must have been fulfilled.
Italia 90, probably my favourite tournament as an England supporter, with so many memories, watched the first game with my late father then flew out to the states and watched the Holland game in the middle of nowhere tumbleweed blowing around, went into this building and it was full of England and Scots fans, a great afternoons drinking and p1ss taking, then flew down to Rio and watched the remainder of the English and Irish games there at the Lord Jim pub, David Platt's volley, the Cameroon game with all the Brazilians (who were already out) supporting the Cameroonians, fantastic atmosphere, even had a Leeds fan hug me and say I fooking hate Utd but isn't this great !!, sadly culminating with the semi on the afternoon we flew home, great time and great memories of that 3 week hoiliday.
When I think of Sir Bobby I think of those times and I'm not going to go into the whole player revolt thing, he was still our manager.

Cheers for sharing that FM. 90 was the first world cup I can really remember. I remember 86 but 90 was the one as a young lad which I remember the buzz about every game.
There's loads of good stories about the man as well showing he was a bit daft but in nice way. Apparently when he was England manager and they were in the team Hotel Bryan Robson walked through reception. Bobby spotted him and shouts over with a cheerful wave. "Morning Bobby!" He replies. "I'm Bryan gaffer.... You're Bobby!"
Another I've heard is from an interview with Shola Amiobi sp?. The reporter asked if Bobby Robson had any nicknames for the players and what he called him. He replied... Carl Cort.

Some of my favourite football memories involve Sir Bobby probably the best being 1990 World Cup which I will never forget. Always listened to what he had to say, he never shied away from the truth and said it how it was - by far and away my favourite ever football manager.
