sounds like a fair decision to me, good start to the season, like a new signing.

Mr Gerrard told the court he had been trying to ask Mr McGee why he had a problem with him when the businessman "very quickly" got off his bar stool.

He said he "firmly believed" he was about to be punched, and swung out in self-defence.
I believe from this clip its not gerrard throwing the elbow but at what point does it look like the recipient of the beating was about to throw a punch. Looks to me like he was leant on the bar gesticulating with his hands near his side and then gets an elbow to the face/neck for his troubles:

wasn't even nearly a fight.
Flailing arms and someone falls down.
A joke.
A judge in Liverpool crown court isn't going to send the special one down is he?
People do stuff like that all the time and depending on the volume in the cells, some don't even get arrested.

he says he only connected with 1 punch from 4, am pleased his strike rate on the pitch is a lot better.

Yes there are 100's of fights up and down the country every night which wouldn't make it to court - forgetting that, what i can't understand is how he actually got off with it having seen the footage. 3 upppercuts to me don't look like self defence!

No, but a judge in Manchester or London probably would've done. He was never gonna get done though cos money talks and he has links with the scouse underworld.

Gerrard fights like a big girl's blouse anyway!

Really? David Turner QC reckons:
Steven Gerrard joined in the attack with a succession of well aimed uppercut punches delivered with the style and speed of a professional boxer
