Default How long will England continue with John Terry

Without taking anuthing away from Villa, Terry has been turned for at least 3 of the last 5 goals England have conceded.

Liability now, time to go.

Waste of space. Had idiots in the pub last night blaming Jagielka for the Villa goal and it wouldnt have happened if they had Terry marking Villa. I just laughed and asked who would he want marking Torres then Either way Terry is sh!te now, legs went ages ago. Commited to a tackle (in desperation) I'll give him that but he just does not have it anymore

He'll play for ever and a day.

Reason: he plays for a top LONDON club, and the London papers pick the team

Question

What? You don't think any pressure is put on England managers to pick so-and-so, but leave out so-snd-so? And the ****e the manager will get if he fails to do as he is told and it goes pear shaped?
Come on, you can't be so naive?

It doesn't matter to the manager. To be fair any person on this planet would sign a contract to manage England its a win win situation. You do well you get paid. you do sh1te you get paid.
Terry was picked by Scolari Cappello's chum.
its time for England to strip out the old wood and let the next generation have a go. We have nothing to lose.
I seen Merson saying that England could of won the game two or three nil if the penalty, which was outside the box when heskey was pulled down was awarded. as spain would of went down to ten men. I laughed out loud. what a ridiculous thing to say.
have you been in south america recently paul???there are some serious plant derived substances there.
England are rubbish Period. if you could turn spain and england into pourable substances Spain would be colourful and the consistency of runny honey.
England would be dull grey and the consistency of nuts and bolts.
Spain play artistic football.
England were mechanical in everything they done.
Please feel free to slaughter me over these comments all you pro Lamps,JT Fabio and dead wood society supporters.

I think Terry has lost it along with Lamps to be honest.

I've always said since the end of Italia 90 world cup that England have lacked "world class" players. By that i mean true "world class", not the "world class" that the likes of Motty and Clive Tildsley talk about i.e Beckham, Lampard, Joe Cole, Ashley Cole, Terry,.................etc

At the moment i would say Gerrard and Ferdinand come into that bracket, but other than that you are struggling. Rooney is close, but he's done nothing since Portugal 04.

Spain easily have 6 or 7 World class players, thats the difference. Managers will come and go for England without ever seeing much improvement, simply because the tools just are'nt there to do the job.

Jagielka+Lescot should be given a run, by far the best English partnership at the moment. maybe the pressure got to Jagielka a little but i think they need a chance.
I think Barry and Carrick could make a good pairing but remove Barry when Gerrard is fit as Carrick has been doing the right things lately.
Downing was clueless. was hoping he would be the "one" for the left side but we are still empty there. right hand side is packed of possible players

As for strikers, i really dunno. all equally bad on their day.

rooney an hesky?

Out of interest who would you consider as World Class from Italia 90

I'd only go for
Lineker
Gazza

Possibly
Shilts (although I still say it was a mistake not bringing the younger fitter taller woods on with a minute to go for the pens ), Pearce, Waddle and Beardsly(maybe, or am I being misty eyed)

Because the thread is about JT and not SG and SG is not such a liability to Eng, JT was at fault for both goals imo.

That makes 4 of the last 6 we've conceded that have been down to his lack of ability or his ability to read the game/players, or his lack of pace.

I'm sure if you look back through past threads you'll find SG has had his fair share of criticism.

Anyway are you JT's mum or something

Doubt he'll risk him against Derby unless he's almost 100% and wants the match time. Can see Tevez and Welbeck upfront.

Oh and the United fans are going to try recreate the 70's terrace at the Derby game apparently. this is what they're aiming for

Watchout WAtchout Greenhoffs about, I remember that !!

Another favourite of mine was

Jesus saves and Pearson scores the rebound (+ so many other incarnations of the same banner)

Hill does 90 mph on the Heighway (Gordon Hill and Steve Heighway for the younger viewers

In 2005 Sir Alex Ferguson stated that Steven Gerrard was "the most influential player in the english game".

Rooney is an excellent player when in form. However his form is not consistent.
Gerrard, Rooney, Lampard, Terry & Cole's J&C. have done nothing for England combined.
From your comments you are a person who dislikes Gerrard and Loves Wayne and this has distracted you from having an unbiased opinion.
England are a nearly team. they always will be. People who are realistic can see this.
It is a team game, one player who "has done nothing for England" does not make a whole team play badly.
A star team will always outperform a team of star players.

Thats some powerful **** from you there Christopher, metaphors and every'fink'

But know what you mean. England are the most boring uninspiring team to watch. Even when Becks swings a crossfield ball, we simply resemble a Subbuteo table. Players wobbling about and not doing anything.

I actually turned over the other night when the match was on and watched 'Duece Bigalow - Male Gigalo' on the box instead

Gerrard for me as a club player is epic, the amount of times he's dragged Liverpool out of the **** is amazing. BUT he just doesnt do it for England and doesnt seem to have the same passion playing for England as he does Liverpool. I'm not denying he's a class player, because he IS. I just hink it's a mixture of a few things why he hasn't performed for England (Franky boy next to him one of them).

WR and SG definetly have different attitudes when playing for England.
SG and a number of other players seem not to apply themselves 100% for England. For me Rio fits into that group too.
Rooney is different he plays like it means something to him.
He is a superb player with no doubt. anyone that comes from L11 is special and i can vouch for that.
England would be better getting rid of most of the over 26 year olds. keep a few of the more motivated ones.
additionally i haven't seen any comments about Beckham. How does everyone think he done? He seemed more focused on gaining a cap than what England were trying to achieve.
I wouldn't play him. he hardly ran at all. he was crossing from the half way line.
Its time for the younger players to step in, at a guess i would say the average age of the Spain team was much lower than England. Even without the inclusion of the goal keeper who is one hundred and eleventy twelve.

Gerrard is world class no doubt about it in my view...........as for doing **** all in an England shirt, well he fits in with the rest there doesnt he. The difference is we know the player is in there, its just a case of partnering him with Barry.
