Robbie Fowler appreciation thread
Its a sad sad day for me as I have always been one of Robbies biggest fans ,
but as they say all good things must come to an end
What a legend
here's hoping he scores in front of the Kop today
Or the winner in Athens even
Thanks for the memories God

For me his 1st spell at Liverpool was the real Robbie Fowler, not the excuse we have seen running about for Leeds/Ciddy and during his 2nd spell at Anfield, he could strike the ball as good as anyone, take free kicks, corners, head the ball, run at and take players on, fox in the box, 30 yarders into the top corner, a great player in his prime, had everything, I think money has been his God for too long, it's shown in his play.

He is a rich man with lots of property and money
Do agree he let himself go when playing with Leeds and City but was plagued with a few injuries too during his time in fairness to him.
However I have to commend him on the sterling effort he made when he re-signed for Liverpool to lose the excess weight he was carrying and regain some of his sharpness and movement
Obviously he was never going to be the same Robbie Fowler from years ago due to his advancing years !

Money made him lazy and Leeds / City made him crap

Maybe that after he hard earned a lot of money via property deals etc he no longer had the desire to train and work hard Look at Sheringham he was still doing the business aged about 70 because he loved the game.

Didn't Rick Parry say he wasn't even going to read his contract before re-signing for Liverpool and had to be persuaded to do so, he just wanted to play for them again and would probably have done it for free, granted he is a rich man and could therefore probably afford to do so.

Why ?, all comments from Utd fans have actually been complimentary, something you and your brethren could never do if the thread was Utd related, you'd come on here and make some useless comment usually encapsulating 5 european cups, no class .

have to say he was harshly done to yesterday - shoring that penalty would have been perfect.
always been the model professional and someone for younger players to look up to (even if he did bang loads in against the 'toon over the years!)

For those of you that remember him as the king of the 6 yard box, check out some of these:
YouTube - There's Only One Robbie Fowler
He wasn't too bad from 18 yards+ was he?
This smiley was mad for God.....
