Don't mind admitting it. What bites me is that the guy who owns Scunny is one of the richest men in the country, but does he do a "Jack Walker"? Or an Abramovich? Does he fek!

It's ALWAYS the same when we get any decent players, "Can't stand in the lad's way, he's moving to a higher class of football......HOW much did you say you'd give us for him???"

Watch for Billy Sharp, Marcus Williams and Joe Murphy to be sold too. Then our directors wonder why so few people will pay £15 a time to go and watch them. 'Cos it's all short-term stuff, you tossers! You'll flog any decent players before we can win owt!

Whilst I agree with your thoughts Al I cant help but think you will never hold onto top players when you cant even sell out a 9k capacity stadium in a top of the table clash in the highest place that your club have seen. Its a real shame, I cant knock it cause my team is in the same boat although the board do realise we wont get any better without the good players.

I know what you mean Dave, read my last paragraph. LOADS of people I know won't pay the £15 to go because they think the club will sell the players either before we go up, resulting in us missing out, or after we go up, resulting in us coming straight back down again. We've all been there before, SOOOOO many times. 1993, we were promoted from the old division 4 via the playoffs, at WEMBLEY! Did the directors even ATTEMPT to keep John Eyre and Jamie Forrester? NOPE, they let them both go, we came back down, we were relegated before Easter

Everone here will tell you the same thing: the directors would rather be a big fish in a little pond than vice-versa, they are afraid of promotion, they can't afford promotion, etc etc.

And sure, they're playing good footy at the moment, but our catchment area is VERY poor, only 70,000 people live within 25 miles of the ground. NOT a good fan base.

Difficult to gauge: he's DEFO not the finished article, a little raw, but:

Has scored some OUTSTANDING goals, some of which were solo efforts.
Is very unselfish
Plays for Eire under 21's
Is only 20
Links VERY well with Billy Sharp, making Sharpy look better than HE is.
Is tireless and a very hard worker.
