Sports section further down the board mate, this will be moved soon.

I think we'll do OK. Croatia are a better team and should be a little easier to play against. Hard to tell though with England, one week we can be awsome the next we can look like nobodies.

Will we ever accept that England are just one of the poorer teams?

Lose 2-0

Thumbs down

I'm going for losing 0-1.

The whole midfield out, no Beckham, and Rooney picked because.............well, because he's Rooney and to NOT pick him would sic tthe media straight onto McLaren! He's VERY poor at the moment though.

Mind, what did we expect? We gave McLaren the job, knowing he was the sidekick of that Swedish tw@. Now we have a similar set-up, a similar team, and play similar boring crap. Surprised? Not me

Agree with all of the above. The last two games had Sven written all over them. The McClaren press has tried to play down his level of involvement with England during his coaching under Sven - but it is becomming evident that he had a much greater influence on England than he would like to admit.

He has offered up Beckham as a sacrificial lamb to the press, and not picking him purely on the basis of proclaiming he is "his own man". With Lennon injured, the ommision of Beckham is an absolute scandal. I can remember watching the game on Saturday and saying to my mate "If only there were some English player that were the best crosser of the ball in the world".....

Even if you throw Beckahm on with 25 mins to go- and least you give us another option - Why he isn't on the bench as back up is beyond me.

As for Rooney, and Lampard, niether justify thier place in the starting XI on current form.

He was always a poor second choice - His club record is nothing of note. The best man for the job is currently at Villa.

As an aside, did anyone watching the England U21's last night? Walcott scored a goal straight out of the Henry book - His pace was electrifying.

i think it might be another 0-0, we are pretty solid at the back but lack any cutting edge up front, for me rooney and crouch have never been good enough, they might have had the odd good game but lets face it, they cant score at prem level consistantly!

agree to that beckham should be in the squad, he is proven at the op level and also, how can you go from being good enough to be england captain, to being dropped out of the squd for people like shaun 'im useless' wright-phillips

About the same as last time I reckon. Is McClaren getting the same money as Ericsson, who is still being paid for nothing!

Ever the optimist, I think we'll sneak a 1-0 win.

Glad to see Parker getting a start, always 100% committed and reliable. Hopefully Carrick can pull out a performance too. He did the same on Saturday as he's doing at United; he's a great player and while he shows signs of pure brilliance, he needs a little more urgency about his game to really compete at the top, top level.

I agree with everything that has been said about Beckham. People forget (as McClaren clearly has) that when we were in the sh*t, it was Beckham (time and time again) who pulled something out of the bag. Granted, he's not the player he once was, but he still has that inspirational streak in him and is more than capable of providing a match winning set piece, cross, finish, etc.

2/1 on a home win looks a good proposition, but not nearly as good as the 2/1 I got on Slovakia to beat Wales on Saturday.

You can also get 2/1 on the draw which is probably the better bet.

Ack. I see McClaren is talking about going to a 3-5-2. Saing "We have to change according to injuries and suspensions and who we are going to play".

THis is such a negative attitude. When was the last time France or Italy played anything but 4-4-2 no matter who they played?

Because they have beleif in thier abilities, they go out with the confidence that they will make the oppostion conform to the style of game that they want them to play - not the other way round.

To change a formation based on your opponent is admitting that with your usual line-up/formation, you will get beat - that you do not have the ability to impose your game on the opposition.

Every single sucessful club and international side makes the oppostion adapt and conform and compromise - not the other way round.

****ing McClaren.
