Default Will Ruud come back to haunt Alex Ferguson

Ruud scored twice last night for Real Madrid, and it got me thinking. When these two teams eventually meet (Man United and Real Madrid) will Ruud come back to haunt Alex Ferguson and United.

No doubt he was pretty p***ed how he was treated towards the end and i would imagine he'll be pretty fired up when they meet.

He is still (in my book) a 20 goals a season player.

Will Ferguson end up regretting letting him go?

Given the circumstances, he had to go.

He put in his third transfer request at the end of last season, so it wasn't purely down to being pushed out of the squad by Saha last term, he'd been unhappy for a long time.

I think we'll end up regretting the decision not to bring in a suitable replacement, as losing Ruud was a foregone conclusion.

Was good to see Smithy back last night, but he's no RVN.

I hope they bring in at least 2 quality players in January, as the squad looks very fragile.

I would hope that Ferdinand knows Ruud inside out, so might not be too much of an issue when they meet.

Does maybe Ruud know Ferdinand too? Both quality players but Man. U should have the squad to progress this year, I would be more worried about Barca tho. Cant see past them this year.

Easier for a defender to affect a strikers game than vice-versa

Striker might only have to win the battle once or twice, defender has to win every time. I am looking forward to the games this year tho.

He'll have Heinze, Rio, Vidic and Gary to contend with. Plus they'll be no goals outside the box from Ruud!
