Our 1 day squad selection does it again.
What the hell do the selectors think they are playing at? Our 1 day squad is sh!te and is shown by the obvious result that will end with 3 losses out of 3 so far.
When will they learn and keep with the same sqaud as the test matches

Lol they never will thankfully, it doesnt work like that in cricket, you will find a lot of players are not one day players and never will be, they can never adapt, Hoggard and Harmison for instance, and vice versa, Collingwood is one of the few one day specialists who has managed to break through into the test side, but Mahmood and Solanki are very unlikely to ever have long test careers, the selectors also look to bowlers who can wave the back about a bit, and lets not forget the injuries we have, Tresco,Vaughn,KP all one day team members, all injured, also remembering that India are one day specialists, its the sub continent, batting 2nd with pitch degradation coming into play so many factors come into it, not least the toss, if we'd one that we'd most probably have won the game, the line can be that fine.
That said I'm just as unhappy as you about the result
I'd like to state here and now I think we have a chance at the 2007 World Cup as the pitches will be to our liking, funny as it may seem right now!!

I disagree though on the fact the players we pick for our 1 day squad just arn't International level. Its only the Test players that do any good like Collingwood.
Its all very well saying the Test players arn't 1 day players but at least most of them are International level. Our current 1 day squad is sh!te and thats why they should be going with the Test team with maybe 1 or 2 changes.
A good example to look at is Australia. For years they have had a very similar 1 day and test squad. They only ever make a couple of changes where as England completely change the team. This can't be good for moral or player partnerships. Keeping the same players in both formats creates stronger understanding and relationships between players that simply can't form if you always change the teams.

Just look at Pieterson as one of the few batsmen England has who can go out and take the slogging mentality to the bowlers and then tell me where he's from.
