Not sure if friendlies count for bans.

I could also have this wrong though

It's only a friendly, so the result isn't that important of course etc. etc.
Well done to Charlton, anyway!

As said after the match, no international game is friendly. you want to see your team win what ever is at stake, mainly national pride. Off course Sven wouldnt give two hoots about that being Sweedish

The footy last night was absolutely diabolical. We played well in the first half, then Sven decides we'll take Defoe off who's gonna be starting the Wales match so what was the point in that, more so the fact he wanted to give his love child Owen 45minutes off football.... Spineless git. Then takes our first choice keeper out to put calamity in, who guess what? Ballsed up yet again. [] then putting Glen Johnson on for Neville. Why exactly? Another person who cant even get first team club football and take of the best right back in English football off to replace him []

We don't have a cat in hells chance of winning anything with that idiot in charge, I like you wont be paying to go watch any of Englands matches that are left, Id rather go watch Grantham town.

What a load of rubbish......

We played well in the first half ??????? No we didnt....we played well in the last 10mins of the first half. Our midfield was so poor its embarassing....Stevey G couldnt manage to complete one pass.....Joe Cole was running round all over the place and not sticking to his position.....Rooney was having to come back deep into his own half to get the ball and spark something off. Play like that against a quality side like Spain, Itlay, Brazil and we would have been 2 down by half time.

I switched over after two nil and watched ROI v Italy at least ROI lads tried.

Joe Cole - Highly Overrated
Glen Jhonson - Absolute ****e defender

Its lucky the MU boy Rooney showed up as he was the only thing we English can talk about.

Jamie Redknap thinks with this squad of players we can win the world cup!....he needs to wake up and take a reality check.....if you cant keep the ball in international football then you will not win. I dont blame the forwards....I blame the midfield four.

Cant be arsed with England no more.

Joe Cole isnt overated, hes a quality player, problem is hes got too much pressure on him to hold a position in the England team and tries to hard.

Cant grumble about your analysis of Johnson. Agreed.

Secondly, I did only see the last 10 mins of the 1st half I thought we kicked off at 7:45 and was on the golf course my fault..lol but going off the highlights we seemed to be OK in the first half. at least edging the game?

Sven should be motivating these players, theyre never going to look interested without the motivation of an english passionate manager 1 game intot he premiership season.

Agree totally, however the very fact ure playing for England should be motivation enough.

However can you blaim them.....? the players?....getting paid £50k a week....there not bothered about some friendly?

After the game the sky presenters were debating if the players would feel pain over this loss.....maybe for 10 mins after the game....then I think they would be concentrating on how to spend all the money they earn.

True but how can we change that? by changing the man who is employed to motivate them and tell them how to play.

only other way is field a set of Sunday league footballers and show the over paid idiots they havent earnt their chance for england. and we all know thats not going to happen

Jamie Redknapp is right, with the quantity of quality players now available to the National side, England are more than capable of winning the World Cup. What is needed is a manager with both the ability to use those players effectively and correctly, AND the bottle to drop those who are not performing.

However whilst we have a manager obsessed with the boring Italian style of defending a one goal lead, and also lacking the imagination or ***** to change an ineffective team we will never win anything

PS For those wondering what I mean by effectively and correctly, Steve McManaman, Joe Cole, Owen Hargreaves, Kieron Dyer and Shaun Wright Phillips are NOT left wingers A key requirement for that role is the ability to use your left foot for something other than stopping your **** hitting the ground, in the style of say Ashley Cole, Wayne Bridge, Stewart Downing, for example.

Got to be English, need the passion in the game

Not sure if Big sam fits the bill, great manager though. his style of play is more big lumpy players and could see him bringin in Heskey and I do not want that to happen Not sure he'd use the resources that England possess.

Alan Curbishly would be my choice though, knows how to use the players he has well and as nice as pie as he seems I think hes someone who'd shout the house down when things aint right.

Saying that though Steve McLaren could be worth a punt, very good manager and has done well in recent years. Shame we dont have any managers who has had a chance at a big club. Any manager outside of England would have to be Martin O'Niell.... no questions. Dont think he'd take it though
