Win win situation whichever result happened, but must admit I did punch the air when that goal went in. Nice to see the arrogance knocked off their faces Only 4 points behind em now.

Just need the gooners to draw against Chelsea for an early Xmas pressie.

Simon.

He may be a little on the slow side, but anyone who can score from there is okay in my book

Love Stevies comment after the game

Still on cloud nine

Sorry, but we definitely deserved the win. Our first half performance was simply awesome, nothing that Arsenal did in the second half came anywhere near to matching that.

Kewell will come good, of that I have no doubt

And as for Arsenal, I'm glad they're having a dip right now - I have a £50 bet on that Chelsea will be top at Chrimble - but I hope (know) they'll come back fighting after Christmas. If we're not to win the Premiership (which I doubt this year) I'd prefer for the **** to win rather than the Mancs or Chel$ki.

Agree with all of that... bar Kewell. He just hasn't come up to expectations... he's had plenty long enough now to stop under-performing. Any chance we had of trying to win the league, went out of the window with all the injuries

Well if we're gonna lose it's much better to lose to a class performance than dodgy referees .

Mind you Liverpool should have had a pen - but you got what you deserved in the end - If Arsenal had taken anything from that game it would have been a smash and grab job (Although all three goals were "top drawer" as they say).

Great game, great entertainment and a result that puts a smile on 85% of football fans faces - can't be bad.

Clueless

2 good comments from gooners, 2 losses in 50 odd games is still a great record and liverpool are the only team that didn't resort to cheating.

At least you know that when on form your team is still much better that any other.

If you look at the raw facts of the situation, you'd say it will have to happen soon.

There's that old saying that form is temporary, class is permanent. There should be no doubt that Kewell is 'class' - he has the raw talent to compete with any player in the Premiership (if you disagree try watching a few of his goals and set up play while he was at Leeds).

So why's it going wrong? Although I'd agree that laziness is partially to blame, he's always been a relatively lazy player - he drifted in and out of games for Leeds - and if it was solely down to this it would be relatively easy to sort out. I think he alone would have had the motivation to rectify this (it shames me to say, but there were a few members of the Kop shouting "fc*k off Kewell" yesterday - that should be motivation enough!).

My personal view is that it's as simple as that his luck is currently down.
You'd have thought that professional sportsmen would be tough enough to work through it relatively easily, but it appears not (I'm not just talking about Kewell here, I'm talking about sportsmen in general). As soon as a footballer believes their luck is down, he may as well be playing with a leg tied to their backside as they're f***-all use!

Kewell's form has been iffy since the later half of last season, but many of his doubters would do well to remember that he scored between 12-15 goals (can't remember that exact number) last season, that'll do me! So long as he's not conceding us goals then he can play as crap as he likes so long as he gets us that many goals each season!

I'm aware that I'm blabbering on now so I'll stop, but there were glimpses that Kewell was getting his confidence back in the latter part of the game yesterday. I personally have no doubt that Benitez will get the best out of him - when he does I hope all of those who were so quick to jump on the Kewell bashing bandwagon will zip it (not aimed at anybody here ).

To be fair, he did, as you say, show some flashes of his potential yesterday, but IMO he is in danger of becoming the new McManaman, or our answer to Ronaldo, i.e: all show and no end product Hopefully Mr Benitez will knock this out of him

I couldn't go to the game yesterday, so lent my ST to someone. I heard the first half on Radio 5, Alan Green couldn't believe that Kewell actually had done a few tackles Got home in time to watch 2nd half though, and IMO Kewell just didn't seem to be putting in a good performance at all.

I've only left a match early once - Chelsea v Leeds couple of seasons ago - took us about 3 days to get in - the match was 0-0 and about as entertaining as watching Wayne Rooney making a guest appearance on "I'm a football player - get me a personality" didn't regret missing the 4 days wait to leave Elland Rd.

Can't understand people leaving a match that already had two goals that were probably the best this season when it's 1-1.

You know nothing about football do you? The goal Ar5enal scored was infinately better. I don't even like Ar5enal but that goal was pretty much what football is all about.

You know nothing about reading do you? Perhaps if you READ my post you would realise that I only saw MELLOR'S goal on the news, therefore I cannot comment on Arsenals goal because I did not see it, you muppet.

So you made a judgement of goal of the month without seeing the other goals scored? not the best basis to judge really is it?

PS I was just being a pedantic **** last night on the wind up It worked

You still can't read can you?

"Surely must be goal of the month" It's a rhetorical question.

PS use google if you are unsure of what the word "rhetorical" means...
