Sell your ground name??
It appears Arsenal's new ground will be known as the Emirates Stadium
How do Gooners feel about this, along with places like the Reebook, the JJB, the McAlpine, you sort of lose a little bit of your identity by selling out, I can understand the commercial reasons, but for me it doesnt feel right.
So how long is the stadium going to be know as Emirates Stadium what happens when say Emirates are no longer a sucessful airline or have no interest in a then declining Arsenal side and cant/dont want to stump up the £3m a season Arsenal have a chat with Coke Cola or whoever and they take over, does the stadium get renamed The Coke Cola Stadium
Maybe its one of these commercial deals where to the supporters the ground is known as Ashburton Grove and for commercial and media reasons its known as Emirates Stadium until their sponsor contract runs out.
??

i'm a massive gunners fan an i think that the genral feeling at arsenal is that it will still be call Ashburton grove which is ok, nike were pretty close to gettin the naming rights but because they already do our kits they couldn't put up as much money.
it'll be called the Emarite stadium for 8 years offically, but then arsenal have the potion to sell the name on again(i.e making more money) or just name it our selves.
the good thing is that at least we only have to sell things like naming right for our stadium rather than sell our best layers.
at the end of the day its all about money.
i'm in line to get a season ticket at the stadium so i don't care what its called as long as i get a seat.lol

Sounds like Emirates got the good side of this deal 15 years ground name, plus shirt sponsorship = around £6M per year.
Don't think you will be running out and buying all Chelski's players with that.
Bit better than the library though.

I still see Fly Emirates on your shirts?
So henry, reyes, vieira, cole, ljungberg, pires, campbell, edu, lauren and toure all came up through the youth team ranks did they? I think not. True you havent spent that much but you will need to to stay at the top. With the amount your stadium is costing I dont think you can afford current player prices anyhow
You saved me the time correcting these pups, how fookin blinkered are some people!!

Cole was homegrown. Also, I think asiangunners point was that the we buy unknowns cheaply and turn them into the world class rather than buying them at the transfer value peak. the players listed cost Arsenal about £35M. grogba for £24M..having a larf

Arsene will continue to buy low and sell high (Hell you can probably have Viera next year - That should pay for the Stadium).
A Russian and his money are easily parted it would seem .

John Terry is the close one, but personally I prefer Toure as I feel that he's only been playing top football as a centre back for 1 year and didn't really play full time until he was 20 years old, so a lot of potential.
ps - 49 years, 49 years...
