And I have to say, deservedly so. OK, so there was a goal disallowed unjustly, but the Portugese ran rings around us. While they played one touch quick passing forward moving quality football, every England player who got the ball pondered over the next move, usually passing backwards if they got chance before being tackled. Portugal must have had over 80% of possession, and nothing but sheer luck saved us time and time again in our own box as we frantically struggled to clear it each time, only for them to intercept and come at us again. Every time we made a break, half the squad stayed back and left just one guy to try it on, and was almost everytime tackled and it was thrown straight back to our box.
