he's a good player but i think hw could be a bit of a liabilaty and i mean on the pitch more so than off it. does have a tendencie to get booked quite a bit. suppose he's not costing out in transfer fee`s. we need defenders not midfield players maybe even a forward.

Is this a wind-up?? Bowyer is sh*te - he was sh*te at Leeds and even sh*ter at West Ham.
I can't beleive that a club with Newcastle's ambition can seriously think they are improving their squad, let alone their team, with Bowyer.

With luck he'll adopt a Gary Speed role. We really missed him in that holding role in the latter part of the season.
Can't say I'm fond of the man and admit giving him and Woodgate some stick a couple of seasons back(forgive me)but I think Bobby will get the best out of him and prove his critics wrong

Hmmm, looks like he's mucking everyone around. I'll be glad if he doesn't sign for us. I have very little time for a greedy waster like him, without going into his other flaws. Oh and consider..... he's still got the civil case to come, and a European ban to serve. Just how much is he worth now?

Maybe Bobby's right and he does deserve another chance? I'm not so sure though.
Mind, look at all the other players that've been bad lads over the years. Patrick Kluivert for example; people singing his praises right, left and centre. Everyone seems to have forgotten he knocked down an old lady on a Zebra crossing and killed her in his BMW...
Or how about Stan Collymore? Knocks Ulrika to the floor and kicks her in the head. Now he's a BBC Radio Five Live Summariser...

Toonman, glad you can justify supporting racists, thugs and rapists . You're very welcome to him. £40k pa for 4 years , c'mon...he'll be banged up for most of that time .

I know who he's referring to. If he has evidence that Bernard actually raped the girl, he should contact the Police, not shout his mouth off in an Internet Forum... Until then, he shouldn't refer to NUFC or any other, as a team of rapists.
The point I was making last night, is that people are quick to forget. There are quite a few Footballers out there who've done a lot of things many of us would be ashamed of.

First Woodgate, now Bowyer, if you Get Kewell or Viduka thats it I'm supporting Newcastle.
Well i'm so close i might anyway, especially if Leeds have another season like the last one.
Bowyer was a gem for Leeds right up until he screwed them for a transfer fee.
Seeya soon Mike

Badger,
Bowyer was awful last season for Leeds! Just slightly better than he was for WH!
He was a great player for us for 3 seasons but was riding for a big signing-on fee towards the end.
He got £500000 just for signing for WH, PLUS his wages and then left his 'boyhood team' when they were relegated.
He's potetially a great player but doesn't give his heart to any club - he'll never be a Roy Keane. I hate RK, but he gives his all and then a bit more. The mark of a great player.
