Joy for MarkO - Ebdon Out!!!!
What's wrong with Ebdon? It's nice to see a bit of emotion in games such as snooker.
Hunter was *fortunate* a good 3 times in that final frame otherwise, the way Ebdon played the previous two frames and made a couple of cracking pots in the decider, I think Ebdon would have had it...

My parents met him at their local country club in Cornwall. You could pay a fiver to play a frame with him - all money going to charity. They said he was a really nice chap and took time out to speak to everyone.
Cant say I have anything against the chap. Far more boring people in snooker IMHO.
Simon.

Just seen this thread.
Emotion? LOL. Ebdon being the man who claims to play snooker to 'put food on the table for his wife & kids'. Hardly a deep-seated passion to win the game.
Ebdon is the snooker equivalent of Damon Hill - not a natural, but works hard at the game. He deserved the World Championship last year, 'cos he played well, but he's in a totally different league to the Hendry/White/O'Sullivan's of this world.
Here's hoping for a Doherty/Williams final. We've started packing to go to Sheffield already.

So what are you trying to say then MarkO - that Ebdon doesn't show any emotion during games?!
Is this not the very reason why some of the players have an unhealthy dislike for him? Stephen Lee, I believe, springs to mind...

He used to be big on emotion - shouting COME ON after good frames. He's chilled out now though.
I don't dislike the guy, I just haven't warmed to him, and don't enjoy watching him play like some of the other players, as he's less natural.
Oh, and I don't really like Stephen Lee either.

So, barring an incredible come-back by Stephen Lee (which looks unlikely, 'cos Williams is playing too well), it's looking like tomorrow I'll be sitting in the Crucible theatre watching an all-Celtic Williams-Doherty final.
Would it be churlish of me to say "[i]I told you so"?
