Nice win today. I doubt we'll catch Arsenal, but ManYu'll still be looking over their shoulders I guess!

Well done Charlton too, up into 6th without me or many others no doubt, noticing.

Cheers

Me too, assuming I can get away from work in time and get over there - 55 miles away and I don't finish until 6:30 on a Wednesday usually. Touch and go!

Didn`t think we played well today, but you can`t always play flowing football.

About time we beat that lot too.

I thought they had the first half and us the second. Close thing though and they're no mugs. One of the better teams at St James' Park this Season, but then Chelsea usually are. They'd be worthy Champions League companions, for us, ManYu and Arsenal.

Cheers

Got to back up todays massive 3 points with 3 against the running scared Smoggies midweek.

It counts for little if we don`t turn them over.

ANOTHER win immediately after a midweek Champions League game. I wish we had a CL game every week, we always do OK the following Saturday. Heh heh.

Don't kid yourself! Newcastle's performance was way less than impressive! Even with Woodgate your defence was all over the place. Pity JFH was sharper at the wrong end today.

I thought we kept JFH and Gudjohnsson very quiet yesterday. Lampard was Chelsea`s main threat. You can`t complian about your defence when a midfielder is their most dangerous attacker.

Woodgate will get better the more he plays.

Bring on the Smoggies!!!

"defence was all over the place"

The odd wobble Markus, but overall not a bad performance considering we had a new player in a key role, and who hadn't played for 2 months. Not a classic NUFC display, but then you must be pleased it wasn't...

Cheers

"Juuuuuunnnnnninnnnnnnnhhhhhhhhhhooooooooooooooooo oooooo!!!!!"

What is it about this little dwarf that inspires such blind passion amongst Boro fans?

In his 1st Season, he helped get you relegated, and then... pissed off. In his 2nd, he was crap and... pissed off Now in his 3rd, he's been paid to sit on a Physio's table for 6 months or so, and now you expect him to do something he's never done before - make the team a good one!

Cheers Pete!

Mike

I thought we had a Poor game on Saturday, But we still got the three points, and thats what seperates good teams from grate teams.

And I can't belive some smoggie is trying to wind up Toon fans on this Thread... Come on mate you should be having banta with lesser teams like Sunderland and WBA teams like that, come on man give your head a shake.

I have got to say I was worried when he came on, But the Toon did enough to keep him quiet. But he can definatly turn a game round if he gets a chance

"Zola is a different story"

I agree; wonderful player, and a foreign player that has graced the Premiership.

I can appreciate your delight at beating a big team like Newcastle United FC, Pete. After all, it's not every week you win against a team who've won:

3 League Championships
6 FA Cups
1 Inter City Fairs Cup

EPL Runners Up Twice (what's Boro's highest finish in anything???)

and who currently lie 3rd in the EPL, and are in the 2nd phase of the European Champions League.

You will of course see this as a mighty big Scalp. Shame there wasn't a Trophy to go with it, as you could put it in the Trophy Room, along with those...

North Yorkshire Senior Cups. OOOoooooh!

Cheers!
