Cricket - it's w4nk
The beauty of cricket is only recognised when you actually go to watch it (rather then seeing it on the TV).
You sit there all day in the sun, drink several pints of beer and eat plenty of food whilst relaxing (whilst also watching out for the occasional six being hit in your direction!)
Nick.

The only people who don't like cricket are those who can't play it.
Cricket's a proper game. Like all the best things, it needs time to appreciate.
The only flaw in the argument is that you rarely get 5 rain-free days in a row during an English summer to complete a Test...

Cricket is a great game - nuff said !!
I do play it and enjoy it (most of the time !)
I get sick of people slagging it off just because they don't understand it and (probably) can't play it properly. Its a great sport that has been played for hundreds of years. The levels of skill required at the top level are mind-boggling and I think its great to watch too.
Okay, it not always edge of the seat stuff, but if you understand how certain things can affect the state of a match as they happen then its interesting.
Before people jump on me and say "geek" and "boring git" etc.. I have to say that the same could be said about alot of the Formula One and rally nuts on here with their obsessions with the sports... I mean F1 is the most predictable, boring sport ever these days, and I used to love it !! I suppose its the same with any sport - if you like it and have an interest in it, then you'll watch/play it....
Footy may ony last for 90 mins or so but many saddos will watch the Saturday morning footy programme on the telly, watch the 90 mins or so of pre-match hype, the full game itself, the after match analysis, the full footy round-up programme, the extended highlights and the numerous chat-shows and Sky phone-ins that go on into the early hours.... and then probably get into a scrap down at the local boozer 'cos someone said his side was cr4p !!
......to me, that's sad, but if you like footy like that then good for you... that's why it so good that these days we have lots of telly channels !!
Respect sport for what it is... if you don't like it, then watch or play something else !!
Cheers,

maybe if they squashed down the pitch a bit, speeded it up a bit, got better, smaller more rounder bats, had 4 or 5 wickets in a diamond shape it would be much better
Oh and yes its good to watch while sitting in the sun and having a beer - totally agree. What's slightly better than that though is sitting in the sun, having a beer and watching something interesting

Oh - one other thing F1 a sport? - I don't think so.. maybe if they did one lap and 72 pit stops it would be more interesting.. if you want to watch real motorsport get to Lydden Hill or Pembrey circuits and what the real exciting stuff go on...
Adamm,
So in other words... turn it into that sh1tey yank waste of space game Baseball !?! Agggghhh !
No I know its slagging sport off but, I'm sorry.. the yanks just haven't a clue about sports.... they couldn't invent an interesting sport if they tried !! Okay, they can stuff us at athletics and stuff, but baseball, softball, american football(I suppose they might occasionally kick it !?!
).. nahh not me !!
If you don't like it = then sit in the sun (if it ever decides to shine..) and watch something else !
Why sit there and pass comment on a sport you clearly know **** all about with the liklihood of pi55ing people off who like it... keep it under your hat - fine, you don't like it - congrats !!
What sport do you like ? how about I slag it off and see how you react !!?
Anyway, isn't rallying a sport ? That takes much longer than 6 or 7 hours to complete.. does that mean rallying is w4nk too ?
