Talking The 2015-2016 Arsenal Thread

I didn't do one last year and no one else did so thought i'd do one this year with all the talk of how we are title contenders.

Wenger and all the players seem to think this is their year and are full of themselves.

Well all I can say is LOL especially now we are losing 2-0 to West Ham.

Wenger is tactically inept and a joke in the transfer market when refusing to bid for Benzema. The players are delusional thinking they are good enough and instead of arguing who is prettiest should spend more time on the training pitch. Roy Keane's recent comments were spot on.

And after today is Cech a Chelsea spy? all the talk of how many points he will gain us, well he didn't gain us any today!

I predict the normal season, fighting it out for 3rd/4th spot at best.

I may well be talking (mostly moaning I predict) to myself a lot in this thread

Yep what a start I really should just have done one thread for 2005-to Wenger retires as it will be the same every year until he goes

Anyone watch the pre match analysis last night? Gary Neville was spot on and it was so pleasing to hear a former top professional player have the exact same opinions that i've had for many years. After listening to Neville I have a lot more respect for what he has to say in future as I couldn't have said it better myself. He was actually passionate about it and he said 2nd to Utd Arsenal would be the team he would want to see win the league because of how much he likes the club from his days of playing against what was their best ever team.

I've been saying it since Vieira left, until they replace him with a strong and powerful defensive midfielder we won't win the league.

I think Neville's analysis really is spot on And Wenger is both naive and arrogant, not either, both!

Good weekend for the Gunners

Shame Spurs only drew, but all in all not bad set of results

Anyone a member on here? Looking for tickets every now and again if you can't make it. Haven't been for a few years now as I was spending £250 on a day out up there

Beautiful day at the "home of football" today

A bit frustrating we did not bury more chances

But at least none of the poncing about the 18 yard box

Ozil, very good, Alexis is simply a joy to watch - such quick feet and his work rate is impressive

And Chelsea losing the icing on the cake

Good result last night, bin Giroud and play Flamini up front, he has better finishing than anyone else in the team! He certainly should be playing instead of Arteta who is an utter waste of space in midfield. Should be Flamini and Coquelin in the middle of the field in front of the back 4 with Cazorla pushed up but Wenger has no clue tactically.

Cech

Bellerin Mertsacker Koscielny Gibbs

Coquelin Flamini

Sanchez Cazorla Ozil

Walcott/Giroud (depending on who we are playing and need pace or aerial presence)

That for me is the best team by far and absolutely no place for Ramsey who just gives the ball away running into trouble or passes backwards.

It was very neighbourly of the gooners to help with the demolition of WHL, albeit a few months early

I find Mertsacker hard to watch tbh, always looks on the verge of a major fvckup

I know I am prob in a minority - but I can't help it

Oh I agree Hodgy, I really don't like him, way too slow for starters, but he is the best choice we have next to Koscielny at the moment. I don't think Gabriel can do better and Chambers is shocking.

Two things

Wenger didn't learn from dropping Cech

Your team is 3-2 at home and half the crowd left early to beat the traffic when you really needed their support

Funkii he will never learn. I've been saying it for years as you well know he needs to go before Arsenal will improve and this is going to be one year where we don't make it out the group stages because of his lack of tactical knowledge. I'm just laughing at what Bayern will do to us.

The fans have had enough and i'm glad to see there are more now with views like mine, it just has taken them a few more years to see/understand the issue.

I've got a season ticket in the North Bank, glad I didn't go tonight now...

It's looking very likely that we won't make it out of the group stages for the first time in what? 15 years?

And dropping Cech? I have no idea...

Of course you have been the flag bearer for a long while

it's well documented that the traffic is hell after a match, it still mystifies me that these supporters who probably pay more than anyone else to see their team leave so early, i'd say those guys cant have an opinion if they're not prepared to get behind their team and stay the duration. It's not as if they weren't throwing the kitchen sink at it.

Cambiasso was immense last night

There is only one successor to Wenger and that is Pep Guardiola. He would take Arsenal to another level oh and bring back David Dein to do all the transfers

They just don't make sense, they play absolute **** in the Champions League against mediocre opposition and then play like that today I think that was Walcott's best game for us as well, he was class today.

but it seems that it is not just Arsenal (this season at least)

all the top clubs seem to be able to put on a limp display now and again

maybe the gap between the mid table teams and the top 4/5 is slowly being eroded

Yep look at some of the results West Ham and Palace have had and some of their signings have been great. I think that Sakho at West Ham is a class signing.

i'm gobsmacked. More so that out of all the teams I would never think Giroud would score against Bayern would be at the top of the list and he goes and scores

Why didn't they play like that in the first 2 matches, in fact why don't they play like that in every bloody game!

Good results. Bayern had the position but did little with it. You had the more clear cut chances. Cech made what two proper saves and one of those was Lewandowskis straight at his head. The Ox must glad Ozils shot went over the line otherwise his miss would be a hot topic.

That Douglas Costa looks one hell of a player.
