Wheel Repairs
Hi Guys, and before you start it wasn't me, but can anyone recommend me a decent wheel refurbisher, preferably a mobile one that will come to me on Saturday.
I was thinking of Wicked Wheels in Uxbridge - anyone used them before

Car went into wicked wheel yesterday, they are located next to Power Engineering.
He had a range rover on the ramp, the workshop looked clean and the work I could see looked good.
Got a phone call 3 hours after they'd had the car. They'd broken 2 of my wheel nut (TBH they were sh!te and I had warned them - replacements already ordered), but in chiselling one off they'd damaged the taper in the nut recess. Quite open about it and rather than cover it up, called me to let me know. They are hoping to get the wheel welded and then machined before painting, but if that is not possible they'll by me a new one. Hopefully I'll get the car back on Tuesday so I'll stick up some new pics

Okay, wheels are back so time for a Ricky style post
The damaged wheel was beyond repair so they bought a replacement. Rarerims only had satin black in stock in the size and offset so the new wheel needed a complete repaint. It seems Rarerims sent out 3 8x18's in satin black and one damage 9x18 in gloss black. Not a drama for me as there was only one needed replacing, but a bit dubious from Rarerims.
Anyway the finish - painted in bright 2-pack white with an clear lacquer for extra sheen.
The finish from the front is very good, only this that has let it down is when I changed the nuts over to my nice titanium ones, the new wheel seems to have not been prepped properly around the nut recesses and the paint has flaked as I took the nuts off. As I leave the country Tuesday I've not got much time to sort it, but I'll drop them a line to make them aware. In all honesty it's one of those things that I'll know about and unless someone goes looking they'll probably not notice. If I can get a pot of touch up paint I'll be happy.
The only other thing that is disappointing is the corners that have been cut on repainting the back of the new wheel.
Yes they've masked on the edge and not to the edge
Again, it's one of those things that only I'll know about and, unless I was building a concours car, it doesn't really worry me. Having seen the cleanliness of the new wheels, and despite coats of poorboys, the inner faces of the wheels are starting to look a little grubby. I'll fix the new wheel in the spring when my plan is to repaint all of the inner surfaces with a gloss white and a lacquer - it'll make keeping them clean easier.
Some of the plus points, because they'd snapped a couple of wheel nuts and damaged a wheel, the replacements came with new nuts (which they fitted in lieu of my old sh!te ones), new spigot rings which they gave me, and some new centre caps, which they also gave me and I like them much better.
You'll also notice the new titanium finish wheel nuts, but only on three wheels. Four of the nuts don't fit in the key so I'm waiting for the guy to get back to me_
To sum up, would I use them again - given that I've has worse jobs done that have cost more, for a road or track car that just needs the wheels tidying up - yes I would.
If I was building a show car I'd go somewhere that can powder coat them.

Can I ask what they charged you per wheel or for the whole lot?
I spent £160 for my set which was a pretty decent job. The only issue for me was, like you, the holes for the nuts started to wear away after the wheel coming on and off a few times.....

They cost £55+vat per wheel (£253 in total) but the council are being chased to pay for one, and the garage that damaged the rear ones during my wheel alignment have agreed to pay for those 2. Have their area manager round on Monday because of a number of issues and I had to get all four done because there wasn't a straight colour match so I'm going to ask that they foot the whole bill
