Hi all

The final arrangements are as follows -

We have 4 teams entered -

Magical Mystery Machine (Mark,Lisa,Andrew)

The Tigers (Paul + Others)

Wilma (Pete,Graham + Others)

Scooby Doo's (Ron,Steve,Rons Mate,Steves Brother In Law, Glen Mason)


The schedule for the day is as follows -

9AM (Sharp) Sign on & get kitted out
9:30 Drivers briefing & draw for karts
10-10:30 Practice
10:30-10:45 Qualifying
11 Race start
13:30 Race finish

The karts will last approx 1hr 40mins on full tanks of fuel.

You can refuel between qualifying and the race start if you want or choose to start on a lighter fuel load and re-fuel earlier during the race.

You can refuel when you want during the race and put in as much or as little fuel as you want (the refueling is done by the marshals) - it's the teams decision and you should aim to do this when the refueling bay is not occupied by another kart so as to minimise time off the track.

There are 4 compulsory pit stops one of which will be for fuel. Pit stops are not a fixed length of time so you need to be as quick as possible (without speeding in the pits)

A pit stop consists of getting out of the kart and the new driver getting in or the same driver standing by the side of the kart before getting back in.


There are 15 teams in total a significant number of which have done this before.

If it rains we still use slick tyres

The price is £180+VAT = £211.50 so we all need to pay the balance of £111.50 on the day.

Ron/Steve - you will need to sort out arrangements with Glen Mason who Julian at Clay got as a driver for you. He's expecting to divide up equally cost + driving.

One question I have for all is regarding trophies. We can either just race for the outright trophies on the day or we could also have (in addition) our own set of trophies to race for (at a small additional cost).

Do you want to do this seeing as there are only 4 of us (teams) ?

The additional cost is £30 for trophies or £15 for a litle wooden plaque for the first 3 places (i.e. not last which I'm sure a spoon could be arranged for). The cost of this will be divided equally by the number of teams.

My team isn't fussed one way or the other so we'll go with the consensus from the rest. Please decide on none, trophies or plaques.

Firstly, i'm sure all would agree, thanks for all the effort you've put in to organise this event, I know what it's like.

I'm not fussed on the trophies as there's only four teams.

Is that why four cars spun on the first corner of the first lap when went for the practice!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

Next time if you break your kart you should have to fix it yourself or be out. That way perhaps my team wouldn't come last.

Who broke their kart then?

A lot of karts were failing because of the weather, as the grit and grass was getting in the components and the water was getting in the electrics. That's what the guy (Julian i think)who was running the show said anyway.

1 Broken Throttle Cable
1 Dead Engine
