Epsom Downs meet-Tremendous!
#1
Well, what can I say?
Mad day started early (7.00am) to pick my mate up from Camberley (i was in reading overnight) and we flew down the M4 too meet Brian and Carl and pop down to Kemble to watch the easy track day. Got bored, could'nt see enough..helped fix Bri's Merc that had a *cough* and ploughed home <i fell asleep, Kev proceeded to get us home in very little time, I await the N.I.Ps!)
Then at 16.00 got in the car and belted around to Alexs pad (Dr Evil) to go to the Evo/Scoobynet meet at the derby arms (Horse racing pub in Epsom opposite the race round, pub I have spent every derby day evening in for the last 15 years-was quiet sureal)
And then, all of the best of the best (chuck, kim&dom, etc etc aside...where were you guys?) arrived shortly after we found MattD, Cookie, Michelle1994unitsofalcohol , and a few others (Mad Moe, Andy Tang) and of course finally I meet Richard Squires much to my suprise and delight.
To cap it off, Bri hauls up from Kemble bringing Ben with him
Then, Lawson and Mark Khan turn up with their ladeeyz.
Reminded me just what scoobynet was all about, such a proper nice bunch of people.
We should use this pub for a southern meet venue, it was very good indeed.
Oh yeah, Dr Evil nearly got me into a fight in Guildford on the way home. Hes a nasty nasty boy! + = DR EVIL See you tommorow mate.

Morning lads
Top get together indeed. Definitely wasn't expecting so many people to be there (I only sent out a couple of e-mails!) and maybe we should inform the landlady next time before we do it!
Top banana and great fun was had at IanW's house afterwards with GT3 and the sideways challenge. Si de Banke should be worried. We were sliding Astons till 3:30am often with 2 in perfect synchronised harmony!
Good to meet all of you. I'm also SD on the Evo forum and was the one sitting oh-so-quietly next to Michelle1994decibels all evening (Green shirt, blue jeans).
Again soon methinks.

I'd like to echo Ronnie's thoughts! Top meet! Good to finally put some faces to some names! As well as see some familar ones!
What a bunch of story tellers you guys are!!
We had Ronnie, Richard Squires, Brian and Danny giving it their all!! You guys should find a job on Jackanory!!! All of the stories were riviting and well told, and it brought a smile to face to hear the 'screaming jaffa' story again!!!
Loudest exhaust goes to both Richard and Moe!!
Nearly jumping a red light award goes to me, thank God for AP Racing 6-pots! - But I don't think anyone saw!!!
Moe, hope the Link is working out for you!!
Steve, I can't see you twice in one day, people will talk!!!
Mark, I'm not selling you my air inductor!! Remove your resonator first!!
And.... Michelle, how much did you drink??
Cheers
Andy
PS - Enjoy yourselves down in Brighton!! I'll be enjoying what Swindon has to offer!!!

Nice to meet some new faces. Sorry about turning up late, busy day.
On a bad note, when the doorman asked us to all sit inside at the end of the night, he was asking if we was going to make it a regular meeting place. The management dont like us taking up tables that 'NORMAL' paying customers would us. As though we wasnt drinking.
Plus i think some of the leaving driving was of the nature they would rather not see again. Why I dont know, we was all VERY well behaved. IMHO.

It wasn't as if we didn't eat!!
Anyway, if we need a pub that welcomes car clubs, I know of one in Cobham! They were encouraging us to come back!!
Andy
PS - I think I went to school with that doorman. He was a bully at school, so it was nice to see him call me sir!!!

Echo the thoughts of others......nice to see some of the Southern lot for the first time and of course the infamous Rich Squire (btw, I am on more posts than you now! )
As usual I drank a lot , stress of work I blame, need to relax more.....honestly I don't drink normally
Great night, great company but the reason I fell asleep whilst the GT3 was going on was cos I had the most nightmarish headache that was making me feel sick......migraine type headache that had been aggravated by the aclohol, so I rested my eyes and was out for the count! You all buggered off without saying goodbye!!!!!
Would like to do it again
Ronnie, those stories still have me cracking up
Take care,
Michelle.

Nice to meet everyone, and the "Jackanory" session was good fun! I'd rather go somewhere else next time though - not sure why they didn't like a dozen people meeting up in a pub and spending lots of money??? Their beer wasn't too good either, despite being really expensive, and they didn't even allow drinking up time. Next time let's find a proper pub!

Yup - an enjoyable night being able to put faces to names I already 'know', although my wallet is still smarting a little!
Oh well, live and learn - we must have spent a good couple of hundred quid in there, so if the owners don't want to see our folding again, no problem with me.
Even managed to take in the Coventry meet on the way home on Sunday night to catch up with more Scooby folk.
Thanks folks!
ChrisB.
