OK, we have taken over the Porsche day out in Bentley - here is a slightly bigger challenge.

On 29th July there will be 200+ Austin Healeys at Brooklands. It is there annual day out, starting at 10am through to 5pm.

I have liaised with the organiser and he has said that Scoobs would be welcome and if we have enough we can set aside a special parking area. I think entry is around £11 for two in a car.

Like Bentley there is on site catering and so BBQs etc are not welcome, although picnics should be fine.

You should be able to hear one of the worlds greatest sounding cars (other than a Scoob) put through their paces in a autotest. Should be a brilliant day out.

Sign-up here if you are interested.

Look forward to seeing you there.

I think the entry includes standard admission to the usual Brooklands stuff.

I will check out the detail and will sort parking, assuming we get enough cars commited.

Cheers,

Trout

So what's going to be there other than the Healeys to make this wonderful noise? :-)

I have at least half a dozen off-line replies - any more takers on-line.

We need 50 cars to make a show of it

Hello Sir,

Me and Caroline are up for it (unless she springs another "did I mention?" appointment!)

Other friends are interested, but they don't drive Subarus!

Cheers

Brooklands is definately on - any cars are welcome - if we get a decent number of Scoobs we can take over the 'Other Cars' section

Should be a great day out.

Cheers,

Trout

I love Brooklands; the place is just full of car history and nostalgia. I'm sure everyone will have a great day.

I'll try to make it with a couple of mates; I just don't know wether to bring the Scoob or the Healey!

A word of warning, I have seen Police radar traps on the Museum approach road (tempting B road!) so watch your speed, especially as they may get wind of the meet.

I thought this deserved going back to the top.

This is a superb venue, especially as we're all supposed to be motorsport fans on here and Brooklands was the first purpose built (car) racetrack in the world!

It's also good if you like aviation history; they've even got the Wellington bomber that they pulled out of Loch Ness there. Have I sold it to you yet?

Neil.

Some news from the front.

Apparently the 1in3 hill climb is now closed to cars post 1940 - and the AH club have gained access to it for the very last time at this event - history and heritage in the making here.

Remember they used to rally Austin Healeys too!

Will post map, directions and more detail by the end of the weekend.

Looking forward to a lovely sunny Sunday next week
