Good morning all!
An opportunity has arrisen to hold the next meet in an exclusive venue in Guildford, that will open especially for us.
I need some idea of numbers, as I am still finalising the details with said venue.
It is going to be quite a special event, I'm not say too much, as it will spoil the surprise But hopefully we can make this the biggest yet!

This wouldn't be anything to do with a mate of yours running a bar, would it?
Where ever. Count us in.
Will have just finished nights so might be a bit grogey!!
Might even get the Sussex Masive to come along
Iain.

Dyney,
Yup, but just imagine, people walking past the open front of the bar, looking in .. and seeing one (maybe two) Subaru's where the tables n chairs usually are.. and a large car park out the back for the cars, with access from the rear of the bar.
Sound good to anyone?
Cheers, Alex
PS. I know about 5 bar managers, various barmaids and a lot of the bouncers in Guildford, can be useful sometimes

Alex,
I'll be there and so will Caroline!!
When the choice is standing around all day, queuing & waiting 2 hours for a fun ride, or having a bar open especially, it's a no contest!!!
Now we need the Kent posse down there as well! I'll have a chat with Nito about that.
What about the UT boys as well??
Good work fella!
Andy

All - Shame some of you can't make it, but if this works, we may be able to it regularly!
The more peeps we can get down the better, basically the bar in question needs a minimum cash flow, or it becomes uneconomical for them to open (chef, bar staff, manager etc..) They will do a basic menu (i am sitting down with said manager to thrash this out this weekend). I'm making sure its KID friendly too (need to check on the licencing on the place) before I confirm anything with them. There is a good chance a fair amount of interest from non-scoob owners will occur what with a subaru parked in bar!
And yes, BarZuka in guildford is the proposed venue. If this goes ahead I we will fully photo-document the day and send something in to SIDC for True Grip!
I reckon we need about 50 cars (100 ish people) to make it a goer (otherwise I might end up paying for the venue hire )..
There is ample parking behind near the Cinema, which is office parking during the week. Myself and a couple of others will secure this parking on the day, so as many scoobs as possible can be parked directly behind the bar with access via the rear fire doors which will be left open!
As I said to make a go of it, it really needs to be a big meet, well same as the Quays and last months Surrey meet really...
Lets make our presence felt!

Jason L - no not exclusive to subarus, it would be great to have any petrol heads/car enthusiasts, all are welcome
You DO NOT have to be a SIDC member, although it would be nice to have an offical present if possible?
I am finalising the details still, such as menu and if it can be done, all is looking good as long as we get around 80 people (40 cars, 2 people per car average), hence the RSVP comment in my first post.
If anyone can source subaru flags, I might be able to get them hung outside the bar
KIDS will be welcome to, we know that much so far, the licencing permits minors on the premises during the day.
FOOD, this is looking to be quite basic, bagette style menu and snacks, no full on sunday lunch, if this is likely to cause a problem let me know, I might be able to get them to do something a bit more interesting if there is enuff interest from us... Would anyone be willing to pre-order there meal for the day? (just a thought, might make it easier for the bar).
Cheers, Alex

Hi Alex,
Unfortunately I'll be abroad as usual, the one weekend that I have to work away in the whole year and it looks like an excellent meet, DOH! I'll try and get a couple of newbies to turn up from work.
Cheers

Hi all,
Been thinking (yes it hurt!).. I would like to suggest we move it back a week to the 19 August, as most people are at Alton Towers so can't make the 12...
What to you reckon, 19 August OK???
Cheers, Alex

Alex don't want to be a party pooper but the 19th is the date for the Hants meet.Obviously I would not be able to make your do but others would have to decide between the two.
Push the date back another week if that is possible, you know it makes sense!
Cheers Paul.

Alex,
Only just noticed this thread. Me and the girlfriend will be able to make the 12th, maybe the 19th, and will be able to make the 26th. Note that the 26th is the Aug bank holiday weekend.
Cheers,
Jerome.

In theory it can't be the last Sunday of the month as that's Nito's Canterbury meet!
I think I mentioned a while ago that maybe having the meets every other month would give people a wider choice! Oh well!
Don't worry Alex, which ever weekend it is, myself and Caroline will be there!

Pretty little calender Markus.
Dr Mini Me.
After spending some time with a local owner of a car stereo place, I appear to have had some goodies put in my golf which all being well is going to become a show car.
Anyone for DVD in car?
Ron

Alex - sorry it took me so long, but I should be able to get there either weekend, possibly with the family in tow !
Ron - would be great to see the in-car DVD - I quite fancy getting one.
