Thumbs up

Nice choice!!

Drive It All are fantastic... you'll have a great day. The course and surface are perfect for fun and learning. The cars are great fun (RWD) and still very forgiving. The instructors are some of the best in the business.

One of the instructors is a woman called Andrea. She is one of the best drivers I have ever sat next to.. so if you're a bit of a MSP who thinks women can't drive, get ready for a shock!!

Drive It All are DEFINITELY worth going to. I know some of the instructors as we work together for other people and can vouch for their professionalism.

Not too sure who will be there on the day you go, as there is a major car manufacturer vehicle launch going on in the next couple of months and I know that some of them are doing this job as well as me!

The girl you mention is Andrea Hall and she can REALLY show you guys how to drive a car

Watch out too for Pat Flynn; he is probably the coolest instructor I know, as well as being one of my best mates!!

Enjoy!!

Rob.

Hi Tim.

I've checked with everyone and yes we are all still go! Let me know the details by e-mail.

Liam

Has the EVO been delivered to your door step yet? I wasn't up early enough to check to see if it was released this morning.

I shared the car with Andrea Hall for my day there. A very fast lady and very good at TEACHING.

I won Best Improved Driver of the day, which shows just how bad I was when I turned up

Thoroughly recommended and a discount for SIDC members.

Shame about Racemans, they were going to Japan to buy a load of old WRX's last I heard.

Just another note to second Simon's post...

at Phil Price's school last year, my wife and Andrew Bolton's wife took 3rd and 4th places, much to the dismay of the 6 hardened Scooby drivers that they beat.

Oh heck ! erm - tarmac/gravel/mud ? hmmm
now this is all confusing me !
er - I'll tell you from the beginning.
I was 21 a bit ago and part of my get together was with some old mates in the form of go-karting. I have only done it a few times in the last 8 years. I won all 5 heats and also the final. The man who owned the track told me to get myself into some form of motorsport as I was getting ever so close to the track record. I would prefer to go onto tarmac really. My dad used to be a fairly sucsessful rally driver in a Mk1 cooper "s"
He went all over the place - even overseas.
So is the loose stuff in my blood or should I be a wimp and go for the easy stuff ? (tarmac) - Would one of these rally courses really let me have a fair crack at it or dont they let you have a serious go at it like at some race circuits - ie. The silverstone experience aka Single seater racers. I was gonna go on the track with my SPORT but no places left must grumble - no probs though eh Pete - another one round the bend - cadwell is kinda bendy aint it !
seya soon then guys (its getting nearer !!!)

oh sorry its me again ! - just read my posting (above)
and realised I havent told you the full story - what I mist out was that I am in the planning stage of building my own Hill climber car. I was thinking of putting a scoobie engine in but I am starting to have second thoughts - I need a engine that will revs its guts out - high rev range - I was thinking about a motorbike engine - but too low in cc - and dont want to go to the confusion of 2 engines - I am only 21 !! Is there any hillcmlimber out there ? I am thinking of doing my first few races or season in my customised mini - good excuse to make it quicker also ! Oh btw - all this is John Felstead fault - he's a bu88er for getting you motivated and I aint even met him in real life yet !
but He's a good guy - just get in contact if you are feeling mad - Ever thought about doing a nightschool course on Physcoligy ?
I'm gonna do one in English ! cant understand why eh ? lol

Hi Phil

Sorry that I couldn't give you a place for Dono.

Just a quick note about Drive It All, they make it perfectly clear in the briefing that you will not be told to slow down!!

The stage at Church Enstone is between 1.1 and 1.9 miles long, depending on the layout used on the day. Make sure the course is their Mintex (or who ever this years sponsor is) Challenge. This day has the most time behind the wheel and has the top instructors.

Hi Phil

What Pete said is bang on, they encourage you to push and learn. We only really learn if we make mistakes, and constantly being told to slow down would not facilitate this.

Tarmac/Gravel/etc
Just because tarmac is grippier, don't be under any illusions that it is easier. I personally far prefer gravel / snow / loose. Tarmac requires a far higher level of comitment to corners. On a race track, this is fine because you already know the bend inside out and subconciously know where the grippy / slippy / bumpy / etc bits are and can drive right on the limit.

But on a rally it is likely you will have never seen that corner before, but must still attack it with nearly the same level of comitment. As far as rallying goes, gravel / loose is what it's all about. The cars don't have wings, etc so are not specifically built for smooth race circuit tarmac. They are more for point to point competence.

If you have never done any loose stuff, you must try it. It is a TOTALLY different driving style but IMHO no more difficult or easy than driving on tarmac. I know this through my knowledge that I find tarmac a real challenge, but feel completely at home on the loose. Yet other people will say just the oposite. weird!

Pete, what do you think?

Cheers

Simon

I much prefer gravel and will be doing gravel events in my RA.

Testing booked for late March and then some club events to shakedown (me, not the car).

Cool

How did you know I was a prostitute?

Got to be worth a giggle!

I'd love to come if that's ok?

I've driven there a few times so I don't mind being excluded from the competition, etc. This way, I have an excuse when everyone trounces me!!!

Are we getting a discount for a group booking? How much is it?

When do you want deposits, etc?

Cheers
