Dartford meet - 4th October

Turb0s
There is a Harvester and an Indian in the village.
We are meeting at "Farningham Hotel and Restaurant" so there will be food there I should think.
edited to add pub name etc.

Following on from paul-s and toltec's conversations in the "was it you" forum, looks like there's a few potential takers for a get together Fri 4th October somewhere around Dartford.
Exact venue still to be confirmed, suitable pub or similar with car park sounds like preferred option, but any suggestions from locals much appreciated.
Any takers or suggestions, please post!
OK the organisation isn't up to Andy(Hol) standards yet, but it could develop!

Hi peeps,
I'll be there on the 4th. How about we meet in the car park at Sainsburys opposite the Police Station. At least it's well lit there with plenty of space and we can pop in the Two Brewers for a shandy if any one fancies it.
The Saxo/Corsa brigade will be round by Iceland (the old Woolworths for us old fogies) or round by the park.
What does everone think?
Dave

I can't help thinking there must be somewhere with a decent carpark other than a supermarket by the one way system! Do any of the pubs further out eg on Lowfield Street have car parks? I confess I've never driven to pubs at Dartford. My other thought is the Wharf out at Crossways (near the tunnel) - which is normally packed at lunchtimes from the offices, but I guess is OK in the evenings. This definitely has a carpark, even does decent food; also convenient if Turb0s is coming over. If that suits people better, let me know - I'll run it with them (sure they won't complain at possible custom!)

How about the pub on farningham hill. Its just off junction 4 of the 25, so easy to get to. Its got a good size car park not sure about food. Every wednesday night theres a big bike meet there so i cant see them being against us meeting up there. Or you got the new harvester on the roundabout at junction 3?

You spotted a problem with pubs in Dartford. In the town centre they only tend to have small car parks or else they are not the sort of places that you want to go to.
The only reason I suggested Sainsbury's was the fact that the Brewers is right next to it and there is plenty of space.
I'm have no problem with going further afield if anyone has any other suggestions. I've only had my scoob for a few months and it would be good to meet up with a few like minded individuals.

Jayde,
The pub on Farningham Hill (A20) is off juction 3 rather than 4 but yes it is easy to find and has a large car park.
If this leads to regular meets then this first time does not really matter where. We can discuss better locations once we get together for the first time. Maybe if anyone interested puts in a suggestion and then, lets say thursday am, we vote on it. I would suggest we stick to the vicinity of Dartford if for no other reason than that is where we started.
Farningham is probably close enough and is easy to find.

Hello everyone. I've just found this thread. didnt know it was going on at first.
The wharf in crossways is a nice pub, as it happens i work in the building next to it every day. so that's only a 30 sec walk.
anywhere else tho is fine. This is going to be Friday nite at what time ppl. Farningham is good too.
so the options are
Dartford somewhere - park up without getting the front end taken out by a 1.0 nova. not many big pubs / car parks.
The harvester in Farningham is nice, good car park, may be busy on a Friday nite tho.
Other than that I suppose it would be a car park somewhere without the pub side of things.
Either way I'm game.

im good. I know the pub you mean in Farningham. It's on the big hill. it's called "The Farningham" as well I think.
That'd be a good place to meet.
What show is happening in Guildford this weekend as well ? I haven't heard about that one.

Turb0s,
J3 M25, Marked Swanley + Brands Hatch
Follow signs for Brands (A20).
Short stretch of dual carrigeway with a roundabout (straight over) then one lane down hill and two up.
Pub is on the right 3/4 way down and is unmissable, it may be safer to go to the bottom and do a U on the roundabout though.
