Plus whatever you have add on 20% for vat, it all adds up and that assumes it doesn't need headwork, the block isn't so badly warped it needs to be scrapped or linered and the ancillary parts coming off are reusable.
running 530 from the standard ecu without any problems and can go more if i wanted ,, very good ecu in the hatchback

Andy did mine on 20% Bio-Ethanol in January,

& the lower one 2 years before on V-Power

2003 Sti, stock ECU, Stock Internals 2.0

Didn't need an AVCR either.

My Turbo is an SC42/Blouch that got damaged then re-machined & rebuilt by Owen developments with bigger billet wheel to M-Spec, sure they can supply the FP range and also do their own range now.

Interesting thread, any updates?

I'm on with 2.5 built motor with a MD321V, all the usual supporting parts but remaining with a TMIC for the moment (funds are dry).

I've heard good things about the Forced Performance turbochargers. Seems the guys in the states are pushing over 500 on a standard position, which allegedly are still very lively and driveable.

Not just the savings there are alot more stock location 400+ Blouch Turbos other than the SC42 & 46 off the shelf in uk.

Owen Developments have their own range to now I'm sure as well as source those FP ones too

I believe (stand to be corrected) there all allsorts of different rated versions, some are good for 1000hp, some are a direct replacement for a standard VF35/48 etc, so the choice is quite simply up to you.

However there is nothing wrong with the others you have looked at. As have you, I've had a few Impreza's now. Here are some that I have run for food for thought.

SC42 on a 2.0L was a good turbo, especially on meth. On a 2.5L it'll be very lively, but would imagine it runs out of steam with plenty rev's to go so you might find its a little too small - only guessing of course.

GT30 standard position I ran on a 2.0L too, managed 430bhp but was too laggy, ideal for a 2.5L I am sure.

S206B standard position I ran on a 2.1L stroker was close to 500bhp, perfect combo, probably would be even better on a 2.35/2.5L. It was very lively and fun to drive.

Coming from a sc42 one myself id say get one of them for just the way it drives (angry little turbo) im pretty sure i was in the region of 440 when we finished tweeking at 1.7/8 bar.
I even bought another they are that good for what I wanted, but ive slightly changed tact again.
For that power region, its a no brainier for me.

I never ran one on a 2.5 Peter so I cant comment, but have read very results. I'm fairly sure some of the top 20 Scoobynet power leadboard guys are running GT30's from memory, might be rotated though... that thread needs reviving

If a SC42 will deliver that power I would say that would be worth trying, I can imagine it would be very lively - and you have one for sale I think you said

yeah I have a standard position FP red (none billet version) , made 530bhp on v-power @ 1.75bar ,,, very impressed with it ,, brought there inlet pipe to match there front housing and it all works very well ,, and is a lot cheaper than most of the uk ones of similar power

the S206 I had was standard, then it was refreshed with billet, think it was around £275 plus remap, so definitely worth the plunge later. Car was never Dyno between, so no idea what the difference was.
