For what it's worth I had an SC42 billet on my old widetrack (albeit 2.0).
GT spec headers and harvey up pipe (iirc), 650 injectors, RCM 340lph fuel pump (because the HRC ones were going through a bad patch and mine failed), Perrin inlet hose, RCM trumpet and K&N filter with cold air feed, 3 port boost solenoid, 3 bar map sensor, and Alcatek with decat and 3" exhaust, cheapo japspeed fmic.
Made 440/390 on V power and 472/425 on 20% meth.

If you asked me if I'd go Alcatek again I'd say no, the amount of issues with cold start and overfuelling I had it was an utter ballache (although some of that could have been the map I acknowledge).
The SC42 is a cracking turbo but given you already have the extra torque of the 2.5 I would be looking at the 321T or the SC46 as people have advised.
There wasn't a huge amount of lag, but ultimately you'll always see more urgent response from a slightly bigger block or smaller turbo combo I'd have thought.

The SC42 frequently clocks up 430/440 on pump fuel - saw one make over 450 on a forged 2.1!

cold start on stand alone ecu can be a pita, bear in mind the mapper wont see the car from cold so is playing best guess. Also temps vary in the morning massively depending on time of year. Leaving car with tuner/mapper for a few days will give them a bit of a chance to tweak it. or can pop back for them to tweak it a couple of times to sort it out.

Friend of mine has a forged 2.5 hawk, and is running similar mods to your list, headers, injectors, top mount intercooler, 255 pump, 3" decat system, induction kit from what I remember and had his standard ecu mapped at Richard Henry.

He's running an FP Green turbo, 430 bhp 460 torque and it runs great. Peak power at 4000 rpm and actually feels like it has more power than the graph says (I have a 420 bhp blob and his feels crisper, maybe due to the torque?).

Well worth looking at for the price he paid, think it was under a grand delivered

Something like an sc42 would be good seen as you don't really want to go beyond 450 on them pistons. 46 would be a good shout also but I feel you will be over 450 by then, same with a 321T etc.
The spool on a sc42 and a 2.5 will be a bit too much lol (if you can even get that).
Maybe a precision turbo? But they are sold as a 500+ rated turbo but most only seem to make around 440-470ish
But ideally you want a turbo under 450 imo for longevity.
Can't comment on the fp as I've no experience or know anyone close to me that has one to get a proper review of one.

sorry, I didnt read the whole post or see the link. He got it direct from the US and actually waited a while for the £/$ to improve. There was some import duty on it but it still worked out a very good value for money turbo. Think theres a few guys on here running the FP Red at over 500bhp on 2.5 hatches too
