Strut Brace Bolt Torque?

Default Strut Brace Bolt Torque?

I have just fitted a front top strut brace

The brace bar ends in the plate slots each end have a small amount of play ie the bar is not a snug fit

What should I do with the bolts holding the brace bar ends in the tower plates - do I keep tightening it right up squashing the plates against the bar, or just moderately tighten it? The nut is a nyloc so it isn't going to come undone...

The pic below is not my bar, but a stock pic I've linked, but it's the same design

Have to be tight otherwise its a pointless exercise.

THat's what I thought, but then why isn't the thing made so that the bar fits more snug then and you don't have to bend the plates?

Some had wee spacers. Sure there's not a hidden plastic bag in the box alternatively pack it out with some stainless washers.

I did think it needs a washer or two
